This bag is so expensive (and constantly increasing) but it is so good. I have been using it for almost 2 years without any care for office, groceries, travel. It has been just so great. I have ordered dozens of other bags from all the major brands but then when I have them side-by-side, packing them and putting them in my back, the Apex beats all of those every time. It is so damn comfortable. More and more I convince myself that this will be my bag for many years to come. The magnets, damn, do not stick strongly enough. It does not affect anything at all. it even makes access easier, but if they are there, they should be stronger. The interior materials and organization is really great. That toolbelt that does not interfere with anything, with space on the bottom. All works perfectly. I’m glad that you picked it up as I like your reviews so much.
Top 3 bag for me! Great review as always! The wow is just for the user every time they load it up. Harness doesn’t make sense but does some kind of carry magic when it is on you.
I get a lot of nice comments on my Onyx version which is the dark blue colorway. It is an elegant design, and they will handle some decent abuse, however I would agree its more on the sophisti-cool side of the fence. Depending on your frame the straps can get a little pinchy in the pecks, and that sternum strap becomes pretty necessary. You are right, the magnets are worthless and weak. I even exchanged mine for this issue and the replacment was just as bad. All that being said, I really love mine.
Hey George, thanks for sharing this awesome review of the Bellroy Apex! I've been on the hunt for a new EDC pack, and after watching your video, I think this one might be the perfect fit. The attention to detail and high-quality materials make it stand out from other packs on the market. Keep up the great content, and I can't wait to see what you review next!
I got this during a 30% off sale and it’s the bag that got me started down the rabbit hole of r/manybaggers. I do wonder if there’s any point in buying this anymore though given more recent offerings like the Venture series at a fraction of the price. They seem to copy and even improve on some of the features that the apex has
It's get to the point of diminishing returns. The materials and quality feel a whole lot better than the Venture series. The look is more sleek and the leather accents are very nice imo. Now for the most bang for your buck then of course Venture series wins. But this bag overall you are paying for amazing quality versus the venture which is great quality. If you have the means then you will not be disappointed.
Great review! Can you please review the Modern Dayfarer v2 and compare it to the Alpha One Niner backpacks for capacity? And if can take your bigger laptop? Thanks for all the great videos.
Hey George, know of any packs that have all of the organization of the Alpha one niner, about the same size as a Osprey Nebula (32L), but don't have all of the molle as a 511 bag? Like... an alpha one niner 1.5 bag but bigger. PS, I love the vids, I've been watching them for years!
So, those wings though… all jokes aside it’s a high quality bag but unless you really really want the specific design, your money would be better spent on a CTB26 variant from EVERGOODS in my opinion. Even the Carryology edition can be had for close to the same price and the regular version that they just announced is a good amount cheaper as well. I would like to have an Apex some day but the price, wings, and some of the functionality compromises keep me from really pursuing it.
@@GeorgeDEFINED hey George. Love the content. I’m currently debating between the Brown Buffalo 21 and a GR1 26L as they’re quite similar in dimensions. My main complaint with BB Conceal is that it’s a bit of a pain taking my laptop in and out of the back pocket, and I don’t really feel like getting the additional sleeve.
Bellroy is hands down my least favorite bag maker. Apex is over priced and over rated. Sternum strap sucks, magnet pocket sucks, straps loosen on their own, Onyx fabric looks like crap after a little use. Side pocket zipper catches the key chain strap. Lastly customer service sucks.
@@microvizart Meh - easy to sell over hyped brands to get my money back. Not sure what to be skeptical about. I've tried out hundreds of backpacks at this point. Bellroy is overrated IMO. You do you.
Most modern backpacks are over hyped and over rated, and definitely over priced. That being said bellroy isnt that bad. I keep one in my rotation and I have never experienced any glaring issues. It’s just a bag.

It's a nice pack but I don't think I can justify that price for myself.
I just picked up one of these for 130 bucks. Looking forward to checking it out. Thanks for the great review!

I got one of these as a gift. You’re right on, George, other than the magnets, it’s a damn fine pack. It’s easy, stylish, and I love using it.

Very helpful review, thank you!
Love this bag!👍
I just ordered this pack for $287 CAD on “last hunt” I’m extremely excited to try it out. There are 3 left👀👀

George, have you ever done a review on packs with the shoe compartment that’s good for edc/gym use?
Aer has a good gym that has a shoe compartment.

Another great review but for this type of bag I think I still prefer the Modern Dayfarer 2

George, you're a handsome man, but that rounded beard is a big no-go for me :)
I hear you.. Irene loves it, I'm on the fence.
Way to much money for this bag. Nice but not that nice!
