I started my high schoolers on shormann after watching a video of yours, and it has worked well for us. My girls are both so different in their math capabilities, and it has been able to meet both their needs. One was able to finish algebra 1 in less than a year, and the other needed 18 months. Thank you for continuing to share your homeschool journey.
We used Shorrman pre algebra last year for the first time, based on your previous reviews, and my son loved it! Thanks you so much for all your work and what you share with others. You have been such a blessing on our homeschool journey!
I cannot thank you enough for making these videos. You have given me more confidence going into the higher years and have blessed our homeschool life so much. Thank you!
Funny you mention Monica Swanson! I currently have her “Becoming Homschoolers” book from the library! It’s so good!!! It’s a wealth of information just across all ages of homeschooling and shares good insight to hang onto for the older years! I will be purchasing it after I return it to the library! I did notice her mentioning Shormann math & how great it was!
My daughter hates math and struggles a bit. She did not like Shormann math at all. We had to switch back to our old curriculum after a month. Shormann doesnt offer refunds, so that was money down the drain. No free trial, just 3 lessons you can look at online. Its not enough to see if it will work for your child. Just think people should know. Love your channel!
@@GraceandGrit Yeah...I knew when I purchased it that I wouldn't be able to get my money back. I was hopeful it would work for her. I wish they could let you try the first 10 - 15 lessons free. That definitely would be beneficial.
A lot of people are asking about TGATB math and the transition to Shormann so I'll piggy back, lol - is it more challenging, less, and did your kids feel prepared?
I’ve yet to transition a child because my older kids could not use TGTB since it was out yet. However, based on what Ive seen in prealgebra I foresee it to be a smooth transition.
My daughter transitioned from TGTB level 5 straight into Shormann Pre-Algebra. I do realize that this is not the norm but it worked for us. She did wondeful in the transition and she was well prepared for the concepts that Shormann covered.
Thank you so much for this video! I've been looking forward to when you would do one about Shorman. I looked on their website but couldn't find the answer to my question. My only question is, is there a free couple day trial, or do they give a free lesson to try it out before you spend the money? Or do they do a money back after so many days? It seems like a fantastic program but there are no details about what a lesson is like for to see if it's a good fit for each of my children.
Thanks for this video! My oldest is only going into 6th grade this year, but I'm already thinking of higher level math courses.... we currently use Simply TGATB, which I know you use... Have you just transitioned right from the last level of Math TGATB offers to Shoreman?

My pleasure!
Yay! About time they sponsor you since you’ve been talking about them for so long 😍😍
Agree! So thankful for their partnership! And thankful I can share what’s worked so well!

Now I need to get it!
Thank you! I was between BJU and Shormann. I showed my son both and he chose Shormann. I am both nervous and excited for the change.
You are so welcome! It’s great!

Unfortunately with an online program that can be downloaded refunds are not given for obvious reasons. Sorry it didn’t work well for you!

Hi,we use learnmathfastsystem
Also some people used Denison algebra!
Will you should a lesson and how all that works in a future video?
How do you navigate the curriculum. Does child have to submit all the work? Thank you for all your knowledge on this topic xoxox
How much time do lessons usually take ?? Thinking of switching my son for his freshmen year since it looks so great for college bound kiddos!
This will definitely be my choice if TGATB Math doesn't have the level of math I need by the time I get there 👍🏻
Well, I say that. But after your review, it sounds amazing! I'll have to compare and contrast with TGATB when the time comes!
What calculator did you purchase for Algebra I with Integrated Geometry? TI-nSpire CXII?

I don’t believe they offer any free trials but you may email customer service with your concern and see what they say!
They have a RUclips channel (DIVE into Math and Science) where you can watch a few lessons like Pre Algebra Lesson 1.

Haven’t had to do that yet since TGTB math wasn’t out for my older kids.
Have any of your kids done the weekly live online class along with the self-paced course? If so, any feedback on that experience?
No they haven’t!
If TGTB releases a Math 8, will you continue with that for your youngest or switch to Shormann?
I will be moving to shormann
Our state requires a geometry credit. Would it be a credit after taking both algebra one and two? So three credits total after two years?
Yep!
I’m considering pre-algebra for my 7th grade son. Are these more geared for high schoolers?
No. Pre Algebra is perfect for a middle schooler
How do you think the transition from TGTB math to Shorman was ?
I haven’t done that yet since my youngest is the only one who has been able to use TGTB math

Does it mention God with that name only or as Jesus Christ specifically ?
God. It’s a Christian curriculum so Jesus Christ is apart of the trinity and the names are synonymous.
