That pitch-controlled male voice is amazing. It startled me when it first came in. For a second, I thought an opera singer (yes, a real human) had entered your studio and joined the jam. Vlad is truly a revolutionary leader (without hammer and sickle ).
Unbelievable. Very beautiful. Lot's of skill and perfect melodic understanding from you (I assume that was you, Vlad). I just love what you can do with SOMA stuff.
the philosophy behind vlad's instruments is just wonderful.we are not devices or machines.we can act like that but that is not our nature.soma gives you back something that is lost or covered up in this world full of computers.thank you vlad. one day i will hopefully be able to buy 1-2 devices and until then there will be natursounds and ambient and of course oldskool tekkno :D
In absolute awe at what these instruments (and musicians!) can do. I got the Cosmos a few weeks back. It's been a long time since I got new gear and lost myself in it for 3 hours without realizing the time had passed. I'm looking forward to more videos and performances while I practice with what I have and save money for more SOMA instruments!
@@RegebroRepairs That part I did not like! It is not 'naturalistic' at all to my ear! I wish it was actually more synthetic, so I could accept the sound how it is!
Any chance that the gesture and position parameters could be sent by USB and accessed through an open SDK? The possibilities for using that as a controller for software synths is very high. It appears that many of the parameters are continuous rather than being coarse discrete values; that could make Flux a beautiful way to perform with software synthesizers.
Vlad, a small request: it would be really helpful if you identified which COSMOS firmware that you're using in any given performance. For those of us who are learning these instruments, it is helpful if we know what we're hearing.
What type of wood will u be using will it be resistant to warping? Also if for some freak reason some kid pus a magnet on this thing is it re-intonate-able?
At the risk of repeating myself, this instrument is once again great cinema! I'm not sure if such a feature already exists, but personally I would add an adjustable threshold that can be exceeded, so that a tone-on/tone-off effect (or rather that the value represents a virtual "sustain" volume) does not necessarily result in a low volume. (For example: threshold at 50%, sound starts at 50% volume). This could be advantageous for certain, more percussive sounds. I love it.
@@KentBuchla It's probably about the same amount of money and a lot better in terms of flexibility and sound. I have a continuum fingerboard. What's your problem.
Soma is the most creative instrument manufacturer of our day. Always unique, always special, always playable. Thanks Vlad.
and always expencive🤣

Soma instruments are just extraordinary innovative and thinking out of the box. 🙌👏👏👏👏
OUT of the box computer use?
This sounds stunning. Evolving and organic feeling. The Flux looks to offer a lot of expression.

Sounds like an opera of the future.
That's the most astonishing vocal synthesis I have ever heard. I guess it's in the controller.
Yes, it is a built in algorithm
@@somasynths I meant that the naturalistic expression is because of the controller. Sounds amazing in any case.

Whoa.. at the beginning I was thinking "this just sounds like a theremin from the 1930s" but that's quite amazing.
Hats off, Vlad.
Incredible!
Magical 🧙
You make the coolest gear
God thats gorgeous!!!
Oh Boy!!!!
This is good.
Beautiful 🤯
Stunning!
This thing with singing voice sounds creepy and dystopian by design.
Wide eyes shut OST vibes.
Gotta have them all...
Supereismo Fantastica as usual!
Just astonishing.
Interesting, and cool. Blessings
I don’t like ambient usually but this is epic af 🤩 wow
That vocal engine! 😮
Lovely

Here we have the standard version with the rotary switch in the second position.

The SOMA Terra looks like the only instrument I could play with chronic hand pain. Sadly the price puts it out of my reach.
do you want to buy a new car or three musical instruments? - what a stupid question. the instruments of course!
Wowwwwwww 🤯
Woah I’ve never seen that flux before please be under 1000 please
so you have a new (and easier) type of theremin
Very interesting
I'm dying to get a Flux
