Yeah man I think it's important to document this history. Geographics change quickly in this country, you have to be realistic about it. It's about the future generation cause when we're gone they inherit what we possess.

UNDERRATED interview.... top 3 for sure. Its loaded with so much detail. I think bcuz its one of the snaller sets ppl overlook it based on title but hawk goes deep as to the landscape. The lil factoid about ug's going waaay down to florence/normandie at one point is amazing

I cant believe I missed this video for all these years.
You probably wasn't watching Kev Mac Video five years ago I remember this particular video because I had a flashback l use to live on the corner house of 113th & Denker Ave. from 1973 to 1975 my parents had a pool in the backyard I remember one summer we had the whole block (properly spelled) of children there it must have been over 20 kids in the backyard that day I share this video to my brother when he was alive it brought back a lot of memories.

I was a Smack, OG Kansas 107 Blocc. Hawk (Anthony) left out Lil Rainbow, Swell, Billy Ray, Ray Ray (RIP). Big Rainbow, Hawk's older brother and myself we ran together and held down 107, 106, and 108 street Blocc Crips. I was there at Washington High that Friday on the baseball field as a Smack with Melvin Hardy, Ronald Barnett, Odie, Carl Vernon, AC, Raymond Washington, Crunch, Comrad Williams and the Baby Avenues. We originally were going to fight. But we decided to unify. That's when the "Cribs" originated. Baby Avenues and the Smacks, OG Cribs which eventually became the Crips!

OG Hawkeye gives great insight of the gang culture of those days. I just wish some of these brotha's could interview together so some of the stories get more clarification like baby cribs or crips, Hawkeye is saying baby cribs but Bobalouie is saying it was crops never cribs. Please Brotha Kev get clarity on that story.
The Crips were named Cribs or Baby Avenues when Raymond founded the gang in 1969. Hawk is pretty much right on that.

Rolling by deep, they swooped close to a guy talking to a girl cousin of my girlfriend. The biker was eating an orange. He threw the orange peelings at the car as it drove off...[a very light skin brother and that did not help him that day.] They spun the car around in the middle of 108th and...the biker road off after his "community affairs meeting" with the other three residents.
