    What the media doesn't talk about: The Mexican and Black gangs that coexist and 'get along'. The media only wants to talk about the animosity between a few hispanic gangs (like Asusa13) that targeted blacks, and vise versa. They don't want to talk about Varrio Grape and Grape Street Watts Crips, and many others who coexist.

    Alex, how about doing something on the deuces and tray Crip sets on the Westside of Los Angeles (Mid Town, West L.A. and tha Far Westside). There's a lot of history that date back to the 1960s down here that many don't know about due to the many, many years of gentrification. You got SYC, PBG, GGC, MFGC, MGC, BYHC, GYC & VSLC (including the history of the Sho Lines in the Mar Vista Gardens). You've touched on Venice a little bit by attending a community meeting and a Hood Day, but we never see nothing in depth on the Westside neighborhoods. One of the first gang injunctions in L.A. was on the Westside and some of the first black and latino beefs in L.A. began on this Westside. Everything you've done is about Watts, Compton and South Central, and even Long Beach. Give us a little shine!

    Some of the information on here is wrong, watch Kev Mac Videos to get a in-depth look into the history of the Cribs… Alfonso did a good job of giving you the basics, for the most part he is correct, James Miller was not from Harlem New York. Somebody before him was from Harlem and started the Harlem Godfathers, which turned into Harlem Crips, when they changed to Harlem Crips is when James Miller was the Leader. James was from East Los Angeles, his mother from Texas and father from Louisiana

    Lil James started the 118 ECBC before the Harlem became Crips. The Grandees is the first Crips in Compton which is now Nutty Blocc. In fact the Harlems, Hoovers and Swamps were independent gangs before they were Crips. So how are they Originals?

    • @streetgangs
      @streetgangs  9 лет назад

      +Al Snow Lil James did start 118 Street Crips, but that was about 1973. The Harlems are 1969, Hoovers were 1969 or 1970, and the Swamps started in the early 1960s. They are original because they formed before most others formed, infact the Harlems and the Swamps have "Original" in their gang name. If I did a top 15, I would have put 118th Street on that list but they are certainly not older that the Harlems or the Hoovers. Also they did not put "East Coast" on the 118 until about 1977 or 1978 as that came later.

    Venice Shoreline Crips is also one of the oldest Crips also. They were in the Oakwood area of Venice. They were Ghost town before Crips came out then because they were close to the beach they called themselves Shoreline. They were also the first black gang blood or Crip to fight a Mexican gang. They got along with each other but every now and then something would happen then they'd go to war in the 70s, 80s and 90s

    A correction to one of your comments about Bret Harte Jr. HS (as it was known back in the 1970's) ALL the EARLY CRIPS did not attend Bret Harte. ONLY the ones that were W/S Crips. Even though I lived on 52nd & Avalon, I caught the bus to Bret Harte all through the 7th and halfway to the 8th Grade since I previous lived on 95th and Main. Many Eastside's used to go to Bret Harte or Thomas Edison Jr. Half that were also early Crips.

    Interesting review. How are you going to leave the Avalon Gangster Crips formerly Avalon Crips (primarily Avalon 5-Tray composed of us that were on 52nd and 53rd streets between McKinley Ave all the way to San Pedro Blvd. Don't know if I agree with your choices since I was actively Cripping in those days, went to Bret Harte Jr (HS) and Cripped with Kitchen Crips, Castle Crips, and Hoovers from 74 (Short Dog), 92 and 94 especially with Lil Rock and Crazy Rock. Where do you get your info from? Jamel Only became a CRIP to get help from the Walnuts (Michael and Kenny Bourgeois, Joe an John Humphreys, Gary and Terry Miller, Donald and Kenny Smith, Williams Scrutchins, Kenneth Short, Tony Billingsley, Kenneth Tillman and some others whom I know well back in the day whom was giving him grief and hard times. West Side Crips were not even established until 1971 when Tookie and Raymond combined. Mack Thomas was the Leader of the Compton Crips and establisher. Hoovers are not even Crips anymore and stopped being so a long time ago having went from the original Hoover Groovers to Hoover Crips to Hoover Criminals to Hoover Hustlers and back to the original title of Hoover Groovers (and they been flag gig Orange colors for years now). Who do you get your info from. I have yet to hear you say that all Bloods stem from Piru's whom at one time used to be Crips for a short while. I went to Locke HS and knew early Athens Park Bloods, Denver Lanes, Brims, Van Brims, Outlaws, Pueblos, lived on 84th and Main where the Swans were formed and knew them. Bounty Hunters, Crenshaw Mafia Bloods when they were in the young Stages, Pirus from Lueders Park and a host of others. Why was South Park and AGC, Not AVALON Gardens (since the AGC consist of 40's, 5-tray and 116)?

AC Babalouie was a East side Crip then they shot his ass came to Compton met OOOG Puddin, LB,Tam, just to name a few Original Pirus then he turned Piru.
