When I was young I didn't date much. 10 years I was alone then 7 years I was alone then 5, then 3 and when I was older, 11 years alone. I've been alone for most of my life. In the beginning it is frustrating and sad but then I learned how to be alone and enjoyed it. 2019 I wasn't looking for anyone and my partner came into my life. Everyday we show appreciation towards each other. Everyday is Valentine's Day for us. We support each other during our bad days and celebrate our good ones. We see ourselves growing old together. It's about uniting as a couple. Our relationship has gone beyond the sexual part of a relationship. It is about having inner peace, inner stability. Every day we find something to laugh about.

I was married to my best friend for 17 years. He died in October 2021. I decorated my office space and said Happy Valentines day to him when i woke up today. I will take flowers out this pm to him. Miss him every day, but I've adjusted to the single life. Each day is a blessing! ❤️❤️

My Valentine and I have been together for 35 years. This year he was diagnosed with cancer. He always gave me cards and gifts for Valentines days. This year he can not get out and shop. He did ask me to buy what I wanted. I just want him well.

As a single gentleman who is not reluctant to say Valentine's Day can be difficult I like the idea of turning it into a self care day I think we can all use more days like that in today's world. If we don't want to settle for something that isn't fulfilling, that is our choice. Obviously there's nothing wrong with being happy in a relationship. Just as there's nothing wrong with being happy without someone. And statistics show that single childless women are happier than women who are married have kids. Surprise surprise.

I've had the same valentine for 42 years and we basically ignore valentine's day. And I've noticed that the healthiest relationships around me do the same. Showing love should be a daily thing, not an on-special-occasions thing.
I’ve never celebrated it either, and have had two great loves!
1st for 30 years until the death of my husband, and been married for 5 years to my now husband.
My best valentine memories are when I was a kid. My dad would buy a really good box of chocolates for Mom and us kids, and he'd buy himself a 6-pack of beer, lol. Everybody was happy. Valentine's is definitely no biggy. It wasn't when I was married, either.
Same. My husband and I have never celebrated. We have a little something for our daughter just to be fun and cute. His bday is actually tomorrow so he gets celebrated instead.
I have been married for 54 years and we also don't think about it too much. This year we are going out to dinner with another couple by a happy accident, when we made the reservations we just knew it was on a Wednesday😊
That's kinda sad though. I love celebrating holidays. Doesn't have to be anything big. Been with my husband for 20 years and we definitely used to go all out as kids but even just a card or coffee, a treat, watching a special movie together. Although we would never go out on valentines day bc that's a nightmare but a special home-cooked meal is nice!
Read through a lot of these comments and I say ignore the “how to get a man advice”, my advice for a happy life is know your self, love yourself and make your best life, filling it with all sorts of loving relationships- family, friends, pets, garden, nature, creativity etc. From what I see you do that on a daily basis 🥰

I hope that I didn’t offend you. Being single and everything I mentioned about aren’t mutually exclusive! You can have it all. All I meant was that you can live a full and happy life regardless of finding a life partner. There are so many types of lives to live fully and happily. I just remember feeling so much social pressure in finding marriage in my 30s that i had a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that something was wrong with me if I didn’t. With 20 years more experience, and a marriage behind me, that voice is gone. Way too simplistic those nagging, unhelpful voices.
I bought a Valentine's Day gift for myself and also one for my sister-in-law. My brother passed away suddenly quite a while ago but she still feels lonely on this holiday. I visited her today and gave her the gift. A win-win!!!!

I am not a romantic. In my opinion only, Valentine's Day is just another commercially motivated holiday to encourage spending. My idea of love is when individual, partners or friends work through the good and the not so good days for the sake of wellness, relationship and family. I love flowers, but they fade. I love chocolate, but it gives me migraines. To love is to be there through life's 'stuff' and grow deeper in understanding of myself and my partner. Love, to me, is caring more about the wellness of relationship than being the one that is right. Love is allowing another to flow in their own natural way.

Married 55 years, we took a drive out into the country. We enjoy the ride, laugh, tell stories and when he sees something I might like to take a picture of he stops for me. We are friends, doesn’t mean we don’t have disagreements but we know, laughter, being kind and remembering life is very short carry us through. Happy Valentines Day Sweetheart. I went shopping at Walmart yesterday...took my time and was surprised to see so many men out buying valentines gifts. Carrying flowers, chocolates, and other gifts for their loved ones. I'm not in a relationship, nor plan on ever being in one again at almost 67 I am content to just be me and me alone. My husband and I shared Valentine’s Day with my 90 year old mom who lives 3 hours away. She will be moving from her familial home of 30 years to a retirement home at end of month. We agreed that, hopefully, we will have many more Valentine’s Days to share together, but felt it was important to spend time with her. It was lovely, shared a yummy meal, took her for a haircut and clothes shopping for her new home. Every day is an opportunity to share love with important people in our lives. I've never paid any attention to Valentine's Day, to me it's just a commercial Hallmark kind of deal, another bogus holiday so people will spend $$$. I also love being single and not part of a couple, but everybody is different.

i can top that! .... i have been single since i was 23. i am now 32 🤡 uuuugh i miss being in love 🌺 i literally don't care about this day. the only reason i remember it, is cause online people remind me. i think it is SO STUP!D the world has this day, that forces most people to either be sad or forced to do something romantic for their partner. maybe i was sad last week? today i am not sad, just bc today is the day it is valentines. you can't force a feeling or a gesture on a specific day. if i had a love, i would definitely tell them to show their love on any other day. not this day. i don't mind if others find it so romantic with valentines day. but to me it holds no value. :) 💕

I am widowed and spent the day with my grand daughters. It was lovely. They are lovely. I always tried to make Valentines a special Day for my husband and kids. Now they do for their significant others and kids. I have always believed in taking the opportunity of a special day to show those that I love that they are important and make my life better. Today is always a hard day for me, my husband and I were married 13yrs ago today. I remember saying that I wanted it be today to always remember this day forever. However it's been 2 years and my love is no longer here. Today I will go and grab food and make a nice dinner and have a glass of wine and watch a movie with our son who is 13. I found out a week later we were going to be parents so my son is the reason I smile on this day.
Sorry for your loss. I lost my husband 7 years ago. Life does get easier. Grief never really goes away. It gets quieter, slower and sometimes it comes rushing back like the sea❤

Happy Valentine's Day, Elise!! I've had my share of Valentine's Day on my own - but have now been with my boyfriend for twelve-and-a-half years (we met in our late 30s). We got to spend a bit of time together today - I am in a play and we are in the middle of production week, so we had a small window, but we had a coffee together and watched Age of Adaline, a random selection that I had seen, but he hadn't. It felt good to be cozy before heading to rehearsal! Thanks for producing such great videos, I enjoy them so much!

Maybe you are a little too intimidating to the average man. Young, beautiful and successful can be a high bar to meet for some. Why not join some fun groups with others of like mind? For example, there are groups such as steampunk, 50's clubs for those who love the 1950s fashion and decor, cosplay, music and book clubs....anything that takes your fancy really. I don't know about where you are, but certainly there are in other countries. Romance doesn't last forever unless both parties are into making a full commitment to it.

I'm amazed how hung up some women get about Valentines , its a pointless 'holiday' that makes people spend money. I didn't care about it when I was in a relationship or now I'm single . It doesn't signify anything , just live your life the way you want .
I don't remember if it was Valentine's Day or my birthday, but the guy I was dating wasn't interested in taking me out to celebrate so I took myself out on a date. I dressed up, took myself to my favorite oriental restaurant and a movie. Best date ever! I dumped the jerk after that.

I'm 51, never married, one dog, one cat, and have had many Valentine's days with boyfriends. But, I have had most with either galpals for a night in or nice dinner out with a close manfriend in my life, also single and fantastic company all! All were special!

As for your singleness... roll with it. I've always lived alone and downright hate it at times when loneliness hits me like a train. I've dated very little ... mainly because I had a few really heartbreaking experiences. Unfortunately, I allowed those to shut me down. Ive been living a rather Miss Habersham life, and I'm trying to break that!
I became very ill in my thirties which left me disabled. I'm functioning in that I am mobile and independent for the most part, but I live in constant pain and still suffer everyday. I fight every minute of my life! This has kept me from really feeling like much of a "catch" or even having the energy to seek a partner or even contribute to a relationship. But, I know God has His plans for me. So, I stand in faith!
I'm glad you date ... keep it up. Enjoy yourself meeting others and exploring new places and experiences. Most if all, remember who you are! Are you where you want to be (studio hunt aside)? Are you nurturing your relationships with your family and friends?

I don't mind not having a significant other as long as I'm mentally happy. I see some of my friends that are in relationships and they're miserable. So I appreciate not having any of their heartaches and headaches. Maybe next year 😊 And I'm so excited about seeing your beautiful garden come to life! Spending Valentines Day looking after my daughters dog. Todd (the dog) turned up wearing a red bow tie and gave me a bunch of red roses, jelly baby sweets and a card.
