I knew Jim Mooney when he lived in Stamford CT, as matter of fact we lived in the same building. He had given me so many stacks of Comics among other things. Nice man, very generous and his wife Anne was just as pleasant to know. Their daughter Noel was not a year old yet, that I can remember.
I had no idea Jim Mooney drew Batman as well as many other projects back in the 50s. His work looks way better earlier in his career than is work later on Spider-Man. I definitely going to search for his early works!
Definitely bullseye 🎯 on his art with Steve Gerber’s Man-Thing 16~23 and Omega the Unknown 1-10! Spidey of course was professional looking for years! My favorite era! Great interview ❤👍🎯😎
I don't think Julie Schwartz was an agent for artists, as opposed to writers. He said he knew nothing about art. I wonder if the fact that Mooney was also influenced by Lou Fine (and Schwartz had Anderson working for him) might be why Mooney was not a Schwartz artist. I think he did some work on Strange Adventures in 1950 or '51, but the editor might have been Mort Weisinger, who also worked on it as an editor on Strange Adventures early on. Odd that both Mooney and Murphy Anderson (who had similar styles0 were friends with Ruben Moreira, who also had a similar style.

His work with Chris Claremont and Joe Sinnot on Ms Marvel!!!

My fave early issues of Spectacular Spider-man were the ones penciled by Mooney
His Spidey was awesome!!!!
Great job!! ❤❤❤Thanks for posting this!!
Very much enjoyed this interview: thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was GREAT! Thanks.
I believe he worked on the world's finest book back in the early 1960s. Very good stuff.
What a witty, interesting guy.
He really was.
How you edited the audio is so cool, I thought my earphones are broken because I'm only using the right one. When I used both the audio matched! Cool
glad you like it!

I didn’t know he did Supergirl! His double dating story with Stan Lee is awesome!
Mooney was 87 then, Sharpe as a tac.
77, but yeah, still impressive.
😃👍

Jim Mooney was an OK artist.
