Man, I still get as much teary eyed hearing this as I did the first time I saw the credits roll when the game was over. They sure did the game justice. And knowing the original story, and what can and what will likely come, it just hits one harder.
i put this song on a star chart for my grandparents 60th anniversary and they cried reading it. beautiful song and more beautiful it was sung by the right person. Thank you little V

By now, I've heard so many covers of this song, but so many of them miss the point of it. It's an emotional breakout from the pains of loss, expressing what is truly felt underneath. How there is this empty feeling inside, from losing something - someone - important.
They just play the song. But every time I listen to this one, I feel that emotion. This is what makes this cover rock so much more, and I thank you for this.

This might be my favorite thing you've ever done. This song, both original and your version almost bring me to tears. The ending of Remake did, and this song paired with the ending of such a fantastic game really did make me cry.

Might be referring to Aerith's death... making it Cloud's perspective.
Either way, an outstanding cover and really tugged at my feels once more just like the original score did at the end of FF7R. Fantastic work.
Aerith isn't dead yet. So she's not "long gone". The line is referring to Zack. The song is about Cloud's identity crisis not Aerith.
The songs about Cloud’s feelings concerning Aerith. He’d lost her before and now this might change as the song implies about not letting her go again. That’s what SE wanted the song made for. It’s not about Zack.
