Man, I still get as much teary eyed hearing this as I did the first time I saw the credits roll when the game was over. They sure did the game justice. And knowing the original story, and what can and what will likely come, it just hits one harder.

By now, I've heard so many covers of this song, but so many of them miss the point of it. It's an emotional breakout from the pains of loss, expressing what is truly felt underneath. How there is this empty feeling inside, from losing something - someone - important.
They just play the song. But every time I listen to this one, I feel that emotion. This is what makes this cover rock so much more, and I thank you for this.

@@eldiego68 I don't think is needed to be like... afraid.. because, yes, future events can happen different, but is something that is SLIGHTLY different. That was one of some reasons for the FF7Remake to be approved and made into parts... They wanted to tell more detailed Events for major understanding of the PLOT itself. We all know how huge and intrinsic FF7 story world is. Tell these to "new" people.. like FF7 always do.( let the expectators think for themselves.) but in a way that still reaches our hearts.
I do expect changes.. maybe like yuffie and Cid showing earlier (vincent... who knows..) in part 2.. And yeah. Sounds temerary. After all, IF it would be made in a Great way (that already done with theses firsts chapters...) can work well! So we wait and pray... XD
About the song. Yeah, it's great. Solid Crisis inspiration. Sound just like "the price of (freedom) embrace" We'll have A new in every part... But for "Hollow" little V made a amazing great cover. Yet... ""I"" think that a minimal or acoustic simplified and distorted effect voice (4:52) would made more "Epic" statement because that part was certain epic. and it's perfect all the way, just some of my toughts on it...

This might be my favorite thing you've ever done. This song, both original and your version almost bring me to tears. The ending of Remake did, and this song paired with the ending of such a fantastic game really did make me cry.

I recently lost my dog to an illness.. I keep listening to this song because it really reflects the bond I had with him and how we were inseparable. But as I deal with the pain, this song makes me think of him, and because of that, I will never forget him.

Might be referring to Aerith's death... making it Cloud's perspective.
Either way, an outstanding cover and really tugged at my feels once more just like the original score did at the end of FF7R. Fantastic work.
Aerith isn't dead yet. So she's not "long gone". The line is referring to Zack. The song is about Cloud's identity crisis not Aerith.
The songs about Cloud’s feelings concerning Aerith. He’d lost her before and now this might change as the song implies about not letting her go again. That’s what SE wanted the song made for. It’s not about Zack.

This feels like the theme song that would play after the last person on Earth dies of the coronavirus after we failed to contain it and find a cure. This song just has a feeling of dread and sorrow and regret.
@@Zangelin actually theres new mutated strains popping up in Europe affecting people who are 40 - 30. Theres little cases right now but they're growing. Also there's animal strains popping up.
I'm not convinced that this wasn't the version that played at the end of the game...That sounded... almost 100% the same... also thank god I can buy this! Amazing cover!

Chapter 12 is the chapter that hurt me. I never cried in a video game and felt like crap afterwards. I nearly quit the game because I got attached to the in game cast of characters and felt really bad. Depressed. Then I tanked through it and things got a bit less intense. I can also say I genuinely felt like I wanted to punch most of the bad guys from despising them. Well done Square Enix.

Nomura and Uematsu confirmed it's Cloud perspective. They wouldn't say anything if they wanted to keep the pespetcive a secret. They just say it in official video that reveals the song, no one was asking them nothing. They confirmed other times in other interviews.

Might just be me, but after hearing both versions I gotta say this version feels like it has more emotion to it. It has more of an impact, for a lack of better words.

It's really awesome! The performance and feel of this rendition of the song is just spot on!
The mix could be improved though. I feel that that there's a lot of muddiness in the low-mids and below, and perhaps I'd turn down the reverb in some tracks that don't need all that reverb. Perhaps cut some lows from the reverb while you're at it. I'd want to hear this much more "in your face", but the low end issues is creating issues there.
But that's just the mix, everything else is just fantastic! In fact I'd love to have a go at the mix of this!
