Hey Shroom, great vids. I am new to fishing. And I've been fishing in George's River. Didn't catch anything until I watched one of your vids. So inspiring! Wondering if I can go fishing with you some time. Desperate to learn more😁
Thanks Alan, that's good to hear! Make sure to listen to the podcast episodes on Spotify, I'm currently doing a complete beginner lure/bream fishing series and it will suit you! open.spotify.com/episode/5p00ZNkjOHv9adiQJ6IZDS?si=89cb098924414194
I was fishing little saltpan about two years ago and hundreds of small tailor started busting up and I heard alot of croaking sounds coming from the water call me crazy but it happened ...when you only bring mullet gear
Great video champion, its not good getting busted off, I went to my usual spot yesterday and got 5 flathead and 3 of them had completly swallowed my grub but didn't have a single bust off, I have been using Platypus Stealth FC in 6 lb and its been amazing leader, haven't had a bust off and even poled in a 60 cm flathead on the 6 lb, highly recommend it, bit cheaper too, how often do you replace your leader? I have been tying a new one for each trip, even if its still good I replace it, or should I keep using it untill its either too short or roughed up and replace it then.
Thanks as always Anthony! You're killing it! Great bag of fish. Sounds like a good leader. That Platypus Stealth FC sounds good and price is very important. I aim to change it every session but sometimes I am lazy and leave it on. Safe bet is to change it every session especially if it's done some work. For example, the leader knot may weaken going through the guides many times on casting.
@@ShroomFishing awsome thanks champion.the flathead seam to be everywhere at the moment, but struggling with the bream so I need that lesson soon, will message you on the weekend to arrange a day, thanks again. With the leader I worry I will get the fish of a lifetime and loose it due to the knot or abrasion, so for peice of mind, I will keep putting a new one on each trip, great work mate.
@@anthonycox1870 Sounds good Anthony. Not a problem at all. Yes, good practice to tie a new one every time especially on light leaders where even a small nick that was missed will heavily compromise it.
Motor oil zmans ..a good choice
Can't go wrong!
Mad hits bro always entertaining
Thanks Clint! That's the plan 😁
Awesome video always love watching your videos great work.
Thank you Tony! Glad you enjoyed this longer. If it all goes to plan, I'll have a special video coming up!

Nice vid, noticed you usually fish 1/16 (what size hook) getting these flathead do you bother going heavier?
I'm usually using size #2 hooks. Yes, if I'm targeting them specifically I like to step it up to size 3/0.
No George's river special today at least! awesome session bro as always 😎👌✌
Thank you mate! It was a good reprieve to be spared from those darn Georges River Specials haha 😎
Great video mate I tried fishing there and casting I got hooked on every tree branch around looks good though I thought 👍
Thanks Daniel! I know that feeling... I usually get a tree on the back swing or with the sudden wind coming through haha. 👍

Hey mate do you always fish alone? When I'm land based i like to fish by myself. Anyways great vid, like the unique spots you do too. 👍
Thanks Brice! Not always but viewers have said they prefer to see me fish solo which I totally get. 👍
i was fishing there 2 weeks ago, not much luck.. dw about the snakes, watch out for the creepy men hiding in the bushes there
Haha yep that's so true. Always have an eye behind you 😲
Will you be singing on all your future videos?
Probably not Mal haha
