Small details: - The Splatoon amiibo stages are the same as the main campaign, except that you play them with a different weapon, that's all. - In Super Mario Maker, there's a limit to how many amiibo costumes you can unlock in 100-Mario, so i feel like using some of the amiibo figures first is a good call as i haven't been able to unlock every costume yet and i reached the limit in every difficulty except super expert and i unlocked some costumes i could've unlocked with amiibo earlier. Lastly, i haven't checked this one, but you apparently can play online with amiibo in Mario Tennis, something you can't do in Sm4sh, sad that the online is going away yet i was never able to play Mario Tennis online lol, while Wii Sports Club i have been able quite a few times. Edit: I love the idea of amiibo, its a way to connect different games and different systems, with all the services down on Wii U and 3DS, it feels cool that there's an official way of still giving some new content to old games via amiibo, i just wish they had some better ways of doing so, like the Word Search game (also apparently some of the new amiibo figures don't work on Wii U or 3DS).
im prettry sure specific costumes are linked to specific difficulties (as in you can only get them from clearing their designated difficulty or higher), theres also a lot that dont come from the 100 mario challenge

From what I remember, I’d argue Yoshi’s Woolly World probably has one of the best amiibo usages. Even after release I remember using amiibo that didn’t have costumes and tried scanning them in; lots of great memories with that game.
For the TPHD Ganon amiibo. Difficulty isn't necessarily locked behind the amiibo since hero mode has the same effect. Tho if you tap the amiibo in hero mode you will actually take 4x the damage

Because toys to life are dead and they really give no benefit to Nintendo since they don’t sell that well. They just release some new amiibo once in a while now. a thing that really sucked about the splatoon amiibos was that in europe every single version of a certain splatoon amiibo were stolen, and nintendo were like "waaaa! we're not releasing them now!" which means europe lost access to features in a game for something that wasn't their fault at all.

It's worth noting that for the Star Fox Zero amiibo, you can unlock the Black Arwing if you 100% the game, but I'm not certain if you can unlock the SNES Arwing, unless I just forgot.

I have a sonic amiibo. The only game i found use in was smash Ultimate. I thought I was going to try it with other games. Turns out most of the games I own don't support amiibo.

As someone who collects amiibo. I hate that all amiibo are essenrially useless because (as seen with SSHD) if you give any amiibo an actual useful functionality then people will complain. It leaves amiibo in this weird situation where people who would actually buy them get minimal value because people who wouldnt normally buy em see amiibo having value as a paywall.
Most amiibo are useless, and most amiibo-compatible games aren’t worth buying an amiibo for. However, they definitely add worthy exclusives to a couple of games, and even if you don’t collect them, it’s worth owning one basic amiibo. My first amiibo was Kirby so I could use UFO in Planet Robobot, and my second amiibo was the Samus Returns pair so I could unlock Fusion mode, energy reserves, and missile reserves (there are no reserve tanks unless you have the amiibos). Having those Kirby and Metroid amiibos has been great for those bonuses in other amiibo games too. That’s my opinion. The only other amiibo that would have been worth it is the Toad amiibo because it unlocks Pixel Toad mode, but they added it for free on Switch, so it’s no longer worth it.
@@ShurikanBlade I feel like it is appropriate because otherwise you are locking something important that costs $13-$16 per unit and isn’t easy to buy due to limited stock. If we're just talking about the Switch, and excluding the 3DS and Wii U, the only game that I own where Amiibo is super-duper handy is Bowser's Fury. Otherwise, it’s just helpful, either by making the game easier or unlocking something instantly, like the Odyssey levels in Captain Toad with an Odyssey amiibo.
@@leesalee1540 well I don't want anything important just something useful. Like the SS amiibo doesn't have a huge effect because fast travel is so easy in the game anyway but people complain that it's an important feature behind a paywall.

I kinda wish Nintendo would bring back the amiibos , sure there being used in smash brothers ultimate , but I wish they returned in Mario maker 2, and animal crossing new horizons.
One thing you missed is that with the pixel mario Amibo you get a special big mushroom in mario maker
As someone who collects amiibo. I hate that all amiibo are essenrially useless because (as seen with SSHD) if you give any amiibo an actual useful functionality then people will complain. It leaves amiibo in this weird situation where people who would actually buy them get minimal value because people who wouldnt normally buy em see amiibo having value as a paywall.
Most amiibo are useless, and most amiibo-compatible games aren’t worth buying an amiibo for. However, they definitely add worthy exclusives to a couple of games, and even if you don’t collect them, it’s worth owning one basic amiibo. My first amiibo was Kirby so I could use UFO in Planet Robobot, and my second amiibo was the Samus Returns pair so I could unlock Fusion mode, energy reserves, and missile reserves (there are no reserve tanks unless you have the amiibos). Having those Kirby and Metroid amiibos has been great for those bonuses in other amiibo games too. That’s my opinion. The only other amiibo that would have been worth it is the Toad amiibo because it unlocks Pixel Toad mode, but they added it for free on Switch, so it’s no longer worth it.

@@ShurikanBlade I feel like it is appropriate because otherwise you are locking something important that costs $13-$16 per unit and isn’t easy to buy due to limited stock. If we're just talking about the Switch, and excluding the 3DS and Wii U, the only game that I own where Amiibo is super-duper handy is Bowser's Fury. Otherwise, it’s just helpful, either by making the game easier or unlocking something instantly, like the Odyssey levels in Captain Toad with an Odyssey amiibo.
@@leesalee1540 well I don't want anything important just something useful. Like the SS amiibo doesn't have a huge effect because fast travel is so easy in the game anyway but people complain that it's an important feature behind a paywall.

I made my previous comments based on your note that Amiibo are “essentially useless” and lack useful functionality, but in my opinion, they can be useful. Not necessary in most cases, but useful. I’m sure Nathaniel Bandy will go over the 3DS ones soon and the Switch ones eventually, but overall, amiibo are exactly that: not important, just useful. Which is what you stated in your previous reply, but is the exact opposite of your initial comment.
