As a choreographer and former dancer- I MUST say- that these South African Youth are clearly demonstrating the future of modern dance competitions to come. Evolving from the restrictions of "break-dancing", "popping and locking" and even "voguing" into a new and exciting era. Being OVR 60 years old, I can also say that this is inspiring me to continue to create and that you all have set the bar and the standard at an appropriately HIGH level for us all. Thank you .
I love your comment. As an avid watcher of dance videos I can tell you this is going to change the culture. This was just perfect from a dance fan. no bias.
As an American dancer, I must say that I felt this performance came from their souls and ancestors! This is the absolute BEST presentation I have ever witnessed on these stages! There's no comparison! Bravo to these dancers. You made a diasporan even prouder!
This is why it saddens me when I hear black Americans or people of the diaspora talk about they not African or they don't have no connection, because watching this makes me so proud of my lineage. There is none better than Africa. It starts from there and comes from there and hopefully one day we come together and end it there. And say to hell with everybody else.
I understand one thing for certain... Dancing is a path to spirituality. As my Indian teacher once said, "God first gave rhythm to Africans and then to Indians."😂🤣 Also melanin is a semiconductor....so...
Sou sul-americana e birracial. ❤
Y'all don't understand all the art that's put into this the different outfits to show the different sides of South Africa, the choreography that tells history everything to show what South Africa is really coming with they brought their all! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PERFORMANCE YESSSSSS🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What do you mean by a lot of work having been put on the outfits for this particular performance? Those are the exact outfits we know those dancers to wear. If you are not familiar with the culture you'll generate such nonsensical statements . We even know some of those dancers
The person screaming is my ancestor calling me on stage to show case my talent too🤣😂😂😂🎶🎤👌👌👌👌👌🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🔥🔥🙏🙏🎤am proud of limpopo boy to be in that big stage 🙏
I'm feeling so emotional right now, Africa is not just a continent Africa is in us and I'm extremely blessed to be an American. Well done guys u made me proud as an African❤ from Nigeria
Soooooo powerful! I cried because I felt it in my soul down to my roots! Our motherland culture is so rich in spirit. You can feel it by just watching. We have a natural connection even from a far.
In tears right now. Beautiful performance, truly epic. You know singabe sigowisha right now eMzansi, with unemployment, loadshedding, poor leadership etc but you guys give us hope that we will make it through the arts. Halala my beautiful kings and queens, masiqhubeni the world is waiting to see how great you are.....Viva my black child viva.
The best performance I ever saw! Wow, watched it already 5 times and still not done. So clean, wonderful technique of pantsula and sooo much energy 🔥 Really amazing!!!!
Love SA dancing, Pantsula, Amapiano, Gumboots, Zula and more. I follow Tebza Diphehlo too. Outside of Africa, black people once danced like this naturally, they called it Jive, Charleston, Jazz and Tap but it is all rooted from Africa and slowly it got lost. I'm glad to see Africa has kept the original form of dancing alive and is bringing it back to the world again.
Nothing is lost… most of us in the dance community see this and get excited because we see where things originated. Dance does not fade, it evolves. We dance with the same entero, the Asian side of my family dances with the same precision and passion. As an Amber I can we dance to more worded w music so it had to evolve to tell the story.
Are you smoking crack? Jive, Charleston, Jazz and Tap are all AMERICAN dances and nothing you could find in Africa. The people in this video are fusing their natural South African rhythms with Hip Hop (also, an Black American founded dance genre). African dancing without Hip Hop influence looks entirely different. Can you simpletons ever just compliment the folks in the video without insulting the founders of Hip Hop?
@@HoneySwtDrms If the word fool was not a sin to use according to the bible, I would say it quite a lot. Now where did I say these dances were African. What I said was outside of Africa black people once danced like this naturally. ruclips.net/video/1BbNvim11fI/видео.html Anyway, sit down, watch this educated documentary about African dance evolution and learn SOMETHING! LOL
@@Rumplegirlskin I was thinking the same thing... what do you mean by lost? Seeing this dance moved my spirit, I felt it in my soul. I'm from the US and I can tell you that we still dance over here. 🤣🤣🤣
The styles were not lost. Colonized, perhaps. There are still elements in african american dance styles from the 1920s until today and we can only thank mother Africa for the spark and influence.
First, that take on modern tribal music was great. Then, the dancers to match that energy and love. One of the most unique dances I have seen in while, could not take my eyes away. Bravo.
I wish this could be a world wide even where black from other parts of Africa show they dance moves and also bring in some black American styles so we can see how blacks dance around the world 🌎.
When we tell them South Africans are best dancers in Afrika they say we lying ,they even post average SA Dancers comparing them with their best Dancers in the videos here ,we like waw you haven't see SA Dancers yet
I want to thank this crew.. All the elements were needed. I went to school at Bishops, so this is only a minore reminder of what SA does on daily basis.
😂The person still screaming with no voice left is my spirit animal!❤🎉😆
The brother in the traditional attire was 🔥🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏 it just screams proudly Afrikan 🤞siyabonga bhuti 👏

FACTS....
Actually, popping, breaking, and all staccato pop dance styles are descended from African dance...it's just going back to its roots. Asé
Proudly South African 🇿🇦 Boys & Girl absolutely killed it 🔥
That’s what we mean when we say burn the dance floor: so much flavor 🔥🔥🔥🥵

Majority of those moves are traditional
True the tinkling feeling even comes when we sing in unity .
You just feel your underground homies happy

I concur with you, it's like a Chinese in America who says he is not a Chinese he's American.
