Thank you for posting these episodes I watch this show when I was a child and now I'm 60 still watching them my father served in the US Army Vietnam and Korea buried in Arlington and I did 10 years in the Army myself it brings back many memories though I wonder what the little girl looks like today
This is what makes a series great . They take a break from all the drama and throw in a knee slapper and this one had me rollin on the floor laughin like an ep of 3 stooges ! Saunders stooges outwit the stooge sargeants ...till the truck rolls out
I got some good laughs on this one. I was 13 in 63 when Combat started. I tried to Watch all the series to 65. I loved it. I was sad they stopped the shows. Good to see it gain I am 74 now thanks.😊
This episode is one of the best episode written by the writers of Combat. Hilarious 😆🤣😂 episode, Kirby, Cajun, Billy getting themselves into trouble. It is always Kirby fault!!! Little John always have to be party pooper!!💩 This had the greatest cast, and I wish they had more shows like this today.
I love Vic,too. It's so nice to hear positive comments about him. If only more people would remember him as an actor and not just an unfortunate victim of an avoidable accident.
This is such an amazing episode. It's funny, and fun to watch. LOVE LITTLE JOHN, CAJE, KIRBY, AND SGT. SAUNDERS, as well as that beautiful, Lt. Hanley.
farswept - Anyone watching these episodes closely will see a lot of actors/actress over and over again in different roles. Its really neat to watch how they did this. It probably also saved in production money.
I think what made this episode all the more funny and enjoyable was the fact that it was so unexpected and uncharacteristic! I was a little confused at what was going on at first, but when it cut to the boys throwing Kirby in the river, I finally realized that this was going to be a fun and goofy episode :--)
One episode that features a bit of Littlejohn is "The Farmer". (When Littlejohn's boots are worn out and he develops foot problems.) "The Farmer" is when Dennis Weaver feels sympathetic for the displaced French farmers and he and Littlejohn tend to planting their crop and taking care of the family Cow and its Calf. A Great episode!
I miss Vic Morrow and I was only 6 when he was killed. I don't remember the accident but I miss his presence. He was a hell of a man as well. He had a certain something about him that was captivating and fascinating.
Definitely agree I was devestated when I heard about his tragic death 😩 😪 ☹️ and at the same time very angry as well thinking how could something like this happen R.I.P. Vic Morrow you are truly missed 🙏😪❤️
I remember these Combat episodes when I was a kid and all my friends wanted to play war. Of course we all had to fight to decide which would be Saunders.
Yes,Realsnd,it is "Chief Sharkey" (Terry Becker) of V.T.T.B.O.T.S. This episode also guest stars,Nicholas Georgiade,"Rico" of THE UNTOUCHABLES TV series.
One of the best TV series ever... superb writing. Wish they did sows this well today. Everything being made today is tired, old, boring, totally dependent on laugh tracks, and morally depraved for the most part.

He was one of the best actors I have ever seen. He should have had a better career in better shows and movies. He did do some good, quality stuff after 'Combat!' but not very much.
Claybourne, played by Terry Becker, later played "sharky" on "Voyage to the bottom of the sea". That is if memory serves me right it has been fifty something years ;
@@kevinp8212 I think you're right, Kevin P. Obama is a real man, and real men would love this show. I'm a semi-liberal Democrat and I can't get enough of it. I want to 'binge watch' it every night! Don't think we liberals are against war. We're not. WWII was a 'good' war fought for all the right reasons. To topple the Nazi regime for one. My father was a medic -- thank you to the original Doc in my life -- and landed at Normandy's Omaha Beach. He didn't carry a gun, just like Doc in Combat. Never knew a better man. Voted Democrat all his life.
21:25 I actually thought for a second Caje was recognizing and reuniting with Micheline from "No Trumpets, No Drums" (same little actress, Andrea Darvi)
I remember this episode. Kirby the mouth. Kirby with the bad attitude always belly achin' would have been *my last choice* for acting Corporal. Cage was the better choice. Tho I must say I chuckled often at the cons these 3 managed. All just to steal some kisses from pretty girls. But it was the con men who got conned in the end. Plus Kirby made out like a bandit not getting caught by the Sarge when the truck was fixed.
Kirby was just a private while Cage was a PFC and all ready had m ore rank than Kirby. Even Little John was a PFC with more rank. I never put a lower ranking man in charge when I has someone else with more rank. If all had been privates than he could have put Kirby in charge. Cage is the better man to have in charge. I am using my 21 years I n the army as my reason for how should have been in charge and I did not al lways go by the book..
@@MRDou44 Pretty hilarious in the end, they got conned, and got themselves in deep trouble with thoses N.C.O.'s. Last time Sergeant Saunders leaves Kirby in charge!! I wonder what happened to Kirby and Cajun, and Billy? I wonder if they had to do dirty details as punishment, the L.T. Hanely wouldn't it slide what they did, Saunders would not be happy with them either. Thank you for your service 🇺🇸
Those delightfully charming ladies must look especially nice after being out in the woods with a bunch of other guys for so long. I can't believe Saunders made Kirby acting corporal. At least one of the guys who have been with Saunders and Hanley the longest should get a permanent promotion to corporal, but my choice would be Cage.
@@howardfortyfive9676 Point of leadership, you have a complainer set them to fixing the problem they are complaining about, then they see it from a different angle. Just like the Israelis did with Arafat. It is acting, not permanent.
Kirby is always in trouble one thing after another . He loses his stripe or corporal stripes and is busted and chewed out by Saunders a lot ! ^_^ * Lord help the sarge *
Out-flanked and out-ranked, but at least they didn't smell rank, although I think Caje might have overdone it a bit with that cologne. Not just sergeants but the highest-ranking sergeants. They didn't have the E9 rank for sergeants-major in WW2.

I think that little French girl they got to prank the sergeant was the same actress one from the end of season 1 that Caje befriended after he accidentally killed her father.
Hanley is welcomed with smiles and a ceremonious salute but when he left nobody saluted him, hahaha. He should’ve suspected something was cooking -- or didn't get cooked. He rejected Kirby's request. But then, there was a war. There were more important things…
