    Coincidentally, I just went and checked in on his channel the other day, and was a bit bummed to see no new uploads. I've always loved the big numbers he pulls with his physique. I mean, yeah Thor pulling 501kg is amazing, but there's something about pulling 950lbs while looking like a relatively normal dude that's pretty awesome.

    I think one thing that hurts him, is that PR total has two questionable lifts in it (one not at all Cailer's fault). The bench press got a very quick press command, and the DL the bar went down.

    • @MrSocialish
      @MrSocialish 3 года назад +1

      I believe its in the rules that the "downward motion" rule only comes into effect when the weight is off the floor. I remember Cailer saying something about this after this meet.

    • @Dave-Philly
      @Dave-Philly 3 года назад +1

      @@MrSocialish meh, I think that's a very liberal interpretation, that deadlift is not getting white lights from real judges. Any deliberate attempt to move the bar is an attempt, and the bar went down before the down command in the attempt.

    • @MrSocialish
      @MrSocialish 3 года назад +1

      @@Dave-Philly I don't disagree with you, I'm just quoting what Dr. Deadlift himself said. People tug on the bar all the time before their "real" attempt to pull it. Obviously it wasn't one of those instances here, but what physically sets a "tug before the attempt" and what Cailer did here apart?

    • @Dave-Philly
      @Dave-Philly 3 года назад

      @@MrSocialish no one in a proper competition yanks around on the bar before they go for a max deadlift.

    • @MrSocialish
      @MrSocialish 3 года назад +2

      @@Dave-Philly I literally see it all the time in comp. Not nearly as forcefully as Cailer did here, but they're still yanks. How would a definitive rule on this be written? Obviously, you can't measure how much force someone is putting into the bar to determine if its a yank or an actual attempt, so where would that cutoff be? Obviously Cailer's was an actual attempt and not a yank, but I'm not sure how you would differentiate it from a yank with a clear-cut standard.
