What a lovely guy
I'm not the biggest The Cure fan, but Smith's integrity and intelligence through the years is inspirational. There are artists that I enjoy more than The Cure that could have followed his lead.
I was a Junior or Senior in high school when this interview took place, and, within a few years time before the interview, they released a new album. It was actually really amazing. I haven't listened to it since around then, but I remember being so surprised that an old band could still make a meaningful album.
Correction, the album was released the same year as the interview and likely why they were touring and giving interviews.
