You can kill a deer with a .22 all it comes down to is shot placement.
@alex barboni that’s why I said depending on shot placement, if you shoot it in the butt then yeah that’s unethical. Shot placement with smaller calibers is key to an ethical kill but you can’t insure every shot is going to be perfect

Your not worth my time to argue, look up “can you kill a deer with a .22” and tell me what it says, or don’t but I’ll tell you it says it’s illegal in most states to shoot them with under a 30 caliber round but the next sentence says “of coarse a .22 would be lethal with proper shot placement”

If you never found it, don’t say “smokes big deer” in the title. Also if you are confident it died within 120 yard, why don’t you look for it? The blood isn’t the only way to find a deer. Walk the direction it ran and if you’re so confident, you might find it there.

@@olliewollie7844 @Nick J According to OnX hunt I walked 1.4 miles doing grinds looking for that doe. Plus how every many miles the other two guys walked. Next time I'll be sure to add a two hour gopro clip for you guys that have nothing better to watch

@@alejandrosanchez5721 because it doesn’t expand like a hollow point. It stays solid throughout and only makes a hole the same size as it. If it were hollow point the bullet would blow up or expand causing a larger wound.

Really disappointed that you used FMJ to hunt and didn’t do better to track that deer. I’ve hunted for many years and never even attempted that knowing it’s bad practice of the sport. The only take away from this is that someone else doesn’t make your mistakes in this video. Also don’t say you smoked a big deer when you wounded an average doe.

I enjoy hunting when deer season is 2 weeks a year in my state and it’s something I do with my family as well. Most likely nipped the deer or didn’t hit her too good, I shoot deer with a .22 and almost every one drops within 70 yards no matter where I hit it some will even drop on the spot. The remington 700's are a joke anymore. They are hit or miss with todays rifles. Some will shoot dimes at 150 and some wouldnt shoot an moa group from a bench. I would bet money my 550 dollar savage combo including scope and all would shoot with todays remington 700's and maybe even the old ones too. The good brands crapped out and the cheap brands innovated the industry.
My 300 dollar 6.5 ruger American is the most accurate gun I've ever shot
@@colekernel2365 my savage was around 350ish after tax and i put a barska 6-24x50 scope on it for 135 and a bipod on it and i done a very simple trigger spring mod and cut 1.5 coils off the trigger spring and made it a lot lighter but you have to be careful and not take off too many coils and make it dangerous to drop. I also took a slight bit of angle out of the bolt cocking pin ramp in the bolt itself to help negate some of the stiffness when operating the bolt. No money was put into the action, just very simple mods to help with the overall function of the rifle, the only mod that made it shoot better itself was the trigger coil spring mod, the scope helps but most people change out the scopes anyway and dont really make the rifle more accurate, just more consistent. I have a ruger m77 hawkeye all weather in .30-06 and my savage axis which is about half the price of the ruger makes the same if not better 100 yard group. The new companies are making leaps and bounds of improvements with their budget line that even big time tv shows like the pigman, and several other tv shows are using rifles like the tc compass and savage axis rifles. If youre not a name brand only chump that thinks they bought a .5moa rifle when really they just bought a really expensive logo then these rifles arent for you but the average joe with half the budget easily has the potential to outshoot your remington 700 any day.

@@ashtonrobinson8809 no scope. Rural king had a sale on all their guns 2 years ago when I got it. I put a Leopold 6×10 on it so my scope nearly doubled the price of the gun😂
