@@Thephillips-dj1po Band of Brothers definitely had its moments. Mostly Bastogne, Foy, and Carentan. But The Pacific is incredibly brutal. And another thing I like is how John Basilone's story is used to demonstrate how even the decorated heroes may end up being just one more name on a long list of casualties. The overall "no heroes" theme of The Pacific is rather refreshing with how Hollywood war movies often glorify the protagonists.
The battle of the Tenaru was intense. The Japanese were confident their bayonet charges could do the job like they had against the Chinese, but then they encountered Marine firepower. I think no more than a dozen Japanese troops were taken prisoner, most of them unconscious.
God Damn! I forgot how dark this show can be. Thank you for going thru all this for the video. Couldn't have been easy looking at all the night scenes, and then the "darker" scenes later in the show!
Homecoming is joyful but challenging for the Marines, Leckie asks a question long delayed, Lena meets her in-laws and Sledge endures a painful recovery.
Love you carnage! I’m so happy your channel is still alive, I remember when you guys got copyrighted and you guys were on hiatus for a while, U GUYS ARE AWESOME ❤
3:40 Man facing down a charge like that with a bolt action rifle would be horrifying. Sure it would still be horrifying even equipped with a m1 garand but I would feel like my chances of surviving would be slightly higher.
I’d rank this one equally with Band of Brothers. I thought BoB had more memorable characters and more “action”, but The Pacific had a better soundtrack and final episode (that one was soul crushing, especially the end credits).
I was considering playing Medal of Honor Rising Sun recently but now am gravitating more towards replaying World at War. I just remember there being grenades everywhere on higher difficulties.
I do think every Pacific theatre game I've played does show lush jungle, I remember some fairly barren islands in Battlefield 1942 but I think they were still colorful
"If you don't like being spammed by grenades everywhere, why don't you stay away from their grenade range? You do know they can only throw grenades so far, right?"

Tragically rates* of PTSD per capita are worse in modern times. Back then the months it took to get back home allowed for more adjustment time. The larger population of vets gave them a larger community to relate to. Now with quick air travel and less people in the service can make PTSD even more isolating. Wars' tragedy always last multiple generations
Hailed as war heroes, the Marines take leave in Melbourne where Sgt. Basilone receives the military's highest honor, Leckie makes a local love connection.
Band of Brothers: The bonds you make with the men you fight beside.
The Pacific: Unflinching depiction of what war does to a person.
I feel Band of Brothers has small parts for what war does to someone, but that was kinda on the side where as here it's front and center.
Generation Kill: What being in the army is really about.

Sledge begins Marine Corps training, traumatized by his combat experiences, an exhausted and heartbroken Leckie finds himself in the hospital.
That's Interesting 🤔🤔🤔
Running into enemy fire with no protection has to be one of the scariest things.
The bloodiest battle of the Pacific rages for months on Okinawa where Sledge's company is horrified by the cost to civilians caught in the crossfire.
Luz: "I thought you didn't smoke."
Lipton: "I don't."
Snafu: "You used to not smoke."
Sledge: "Guess I do now."

The horrors of combat unfold for three young US Marines fighting their way through the blood, mud and rain of the Pacific theater during World War II.
The battle for Peleliu's airfield results in high casualties, Sledge fights thirst, fear and an entrenched enemy and Leckie desperately seeks a medic.

My mom’s father went to Iwo Jima when he was in the army, he had to do cleanup
The Pacific is without a doubt a series equal to that of Generation Kill in terms of realism and accuracy.
Yes finally After 7 years too along with band of brothers
12:24 This scene here shocked me so much when i watched for the first time, and i was only 16
生々しいのが映画として良いんだよ
Lovely indeed!😅 I love the pin ball sound with each kill!😂
Next Windtalkers (2002) - Carnage Count
I would like to see Windtalkers (2002) being counted
Good.
3:40 Man facing down a charge like that with a bolt action rifle would be horrifying. Sure it would still be horrifying even equipped with a m1 garand but I would feel like my chances of surviving would be slightly higher.
“…and count the soreness afterward a small price indeed.”
Finally, my fav miniseries
200 Deaths In 1 Minute? crazy
I’d rank this one equally with Band of Brothers. I thought BoB had more memorable characters and more “action”, but The Pacific had a better soundtrack and final episode (that one was soul crushing, especially the end credits).
4:14 they killed the Punisher...
Peleliu was such a waste of an island to take
Amazing job counting all this !
We need a hell let loose set in the Pacific
#692 was brutal… War Sucks!
Carnage Counts is going through a war in these intros. I would love to see a Carnage Count video of the resulting story overall.
I'll put one out whenever we are at a good stopping point!
Awesome
That is a lot of work Carnage Counts! Great job!!!! PS Could you please do Future World with James Franco, Lucy Liu & Milla Jovovich?
One of my favourite series.
OMG 748 KILLS!
Hot take: i much prefer The Pacific over Band of Brothers
I do too!
I haven't finished the pacific but god that was visceral 😬
If you haven’t done Band of Brothers, can you do it?
人数や物量が違いすぎて、日本軍には勝ち目がなかったですね。2度と戦争にならない事を祈ります。
Pearl Harbor (2001) and Midway (2019) Carnage Count please
At least it will all go quicker, this time around ...
Some movie this is! They didn't put neither USS Washington vs Kirishima nor Leyte Gulf or something like those.
next: master of the air
15:34 this scene make's me angry of what the Japanese do to their own civilian
The expendables 4 next please
Call of Duty World at War: The series
I was considering playing Medal of Honor Rising Sun recently but now am gravitating more towards replaying World at War. I just remember there being grenades everywhere on higher difficulties.
World at War, except the Marines actually look like Marines and Peleliu is an actual hellscape instead of a generic jungle.
Could you do a Carnage Count for Stay Tuned? (the movie with John Ritter)
14:58 / 59 92ed
This has to be the deadliest mini-series ever made, right?
I believe this is the first one over 400
Kill count 517 , he didn’t die

These brave men would return to provide horrifying PTSD to their spouces and children

Sgt. Basilone sells war bonds on tour with a Hollywood actor, Sledge joins Leckie and the 1st Marines as they prepare for the invasion of Peleliu.
14:58 Hail Satan
Fighting Japanese forces for control of Peleliu's rocky and desolate hills, Sledge and his company engaged in harrowing hand-to-hand combat.
The 1st Marine Division lands at Guadalcanal, new enlistee Leckie and his company meet fierce enemy resistance amid a lack of food and ammunition.
After requesting a transfer, Sgt. Basilone becomes a drill instructor at Camp Pendleton and falls in love with Lena, a fellow Marine Corps sergeant.
