In the 1993 movie Dazed and Confused, Pickford's Orbital Orange 1970 GTO Judge is a beefy muscle car that represents the epitome of cool for its era. The bright orange paint job and impressive engine make the car stand out and attract attention from other characters in the movie. The car serves as a symbol of freedom and rebellion, as it embodies the spirit of the 1970s and the counterculture movement of the time. Кино
Fact... It's sad that the actors couldn't drive a stick during the filming.
That's Hollywood for you they can't do nothing
I guess this generation is the same as the 1993 cast. None could drive. A stick shift, pathetic.
Jason Mewes in Jay and silent Bob sticks back. " I hate how fake Hollywood is "
I work in film…it’s even worse now ! Some can’t drive at all
They were probably too stoned and was paying attention too much to Milla Jovovich than driving 😅
I saw a documentary about Dazed’ it said Pickford had a bigger role in the movie but the actor and director were not getting along.
This is one of my favorite movies from back in the day. My theory is the cars represented the personality of the characters.
Hmm.. tell more about it
They always look for cars that match the driver's character in movies, even if the director doesn't know sh!t about cars he will bring a gearhead to do the matchmaking lol. The F&F movies always have that matchmaking process on the special features, they gotta find the right car for such diverse casts
Here's a depressing thought: we are further from the date of this production, than the movie is from the date it was portraying.
I say that about That 70's Show all the time to people.
I love this movie, literally one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time
Got to say, the pepper green really does it for me.
Yeah, If I had to choose and keep a factory color only, that would have been my choice as well. Black is the only way I go with my muscle cars personally though 😉👍
Nice I live in Massachusetts! I'll look for it in upcoming car shows. 😅
😉👍
I read the director wanted Kool Aid colored muscle cars to give it a crazy for the times 70's look. At least they weren't beating on real GTO Judges. Great movie ! Thanks for the vid.
Awesome facts thanks for sharing!
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it🙂👍
Love the content. Longer videos? I this movie they had. T/A in the background with 80’s Pontiac rims.
Thanks, videos are kind of naturally getting longer as I go and get better at it. It's still a fairly new born channel and I'm learning more as I go ;-)
I remember a Judge that a senior in high school had when I was in junior high in 1977. He was leaving a party and did 3 hit and runs on his way home with it. He went to jail and I wonder where the car ever went. It was bright red.
Yikes! That really makes you wonder if it's still in one piece or not 😬
I don’t want to be one of those stickler guys but the 70’ 455 was rated at 360hp. They were D port heads in 70’ The Ram Air IV had round port heads and was rated at 370hp.
It wasn’t until 71’ that the 455 H.O. with round port heads was available.
But I guess it doesn’t matter since since the film was produced in 92’ and we don’t know which 455 or 400 was in the engine bay.
Correct! Pontiac did call that high comp D port 455 an H.O. though. A torque monster!
Should also do one on wooderson’s chevelle and benny’s C10.
Yep, already on the to do list to swing back to after going through all the many movies on my list once to get the main cars. 😉 Thanks👍
Nice job as usual. 😎
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it 🙂👍
Awesome stuff ! Love your content. Keep it up.
Glad to hear that friend and will do 😉👍
Thanks for all the great vids !!! How about one on the '55 Chevy from "two lane blacktop"?
You're welcome and thanks for watching. Yes, that one is on my list along with many others to come😉👍
that would be cool supposedly had a built 454
I really enjoy your videos but could they be made with a bit more volume? They are just barely audible. 👍😁
I thought I was going deaf.
I'd like to see every car from this movie
Indeed, there are so many greats in that movie! 😁👍
Kinda hope he does Benny's c10 or Clints Chevelle next
Yeah, I'll get to some of the other vehicles when I make second sweeps through my long list eventually 👍
Clint had a trans am, “white lightning” 😄
Thanks for this video, please find info on the c10 Cheyenne
You're welcome, yeah I'll eventually get back through my mega long list to get to second rounds and cover some other cars in movies I've already touched on. Thanks😉👍
😋😋 very cool job carstarz on this video as called back to swinging, fun, wild but sometimes chaotic decade of the 70s is shown in movie with younger generation having no care to world, consequences or law enforcement while driving this sweet 70 gto judge all though out the movie did not get destroyed is miracle my friend 😅😅 anyway thanks for the video and have groovy day bye now. P.S. Hey CarStarz i left some comments on couple of videos if you have the time to see them please do see ya later bye now.
Indeed a care free era that many of us with we could return to 😉👍
Yep, I think I'm caught up on your recent comments as of now. Thanks
@CarStarz42 Thanks, my friend as with this video one of the movie cars is missing which just so happens to be hero car and not stunt car that is still around, but for the hero car to last be registered in 2016 means that someone has or had this judge out there to be found in the future anyway i got to go see you later bye now.
Please do about the Melba Toast!
Yep, it's on the to do list when it gets time for a second time go around of my 100+ movies list🙂👍
Got to do white lighting as well
@@sf-dn8rh I heard that White Lightning was in a dealership showroom in the Austin area years ago.
I knew about the shifter scene
Was wondering if you could do one on the GTO from the movie sex drive.
Yep, that one is already on my long list. Thanks👍
Awesome videos. Could you do the 57 Chevy from Return to Macon County?
Thanks, glad you are enjoying them; I'll add that one to my very long list to look into. Thanks
Just wanted to let ya know that two cool vehicles you can add to the channel are - ( The Big Bus 1976 ) and the cool land cruiser from the Saturday morning 70s TV show ( ARK 2 ) take care...
Thanks, I had the Bus on the list already, but not the land cruiser, so I added it 😉👍
I would love it if you dug up 10 facts about Reggie Dunlop's (Paul Newman) GTO in Slap Shot.
I haven't seen that one, but looks cool, so I added to my mega list to look into 😉👍
My only question is where did you find the information about the vinyl top judges? I actually own a real deal 70 judge orbit orange with factory vinyl top and would like to see a breakdown of that
Made this video quite awhile back, but there is a site out there somewhere that goes into it a bit; don't remember exactly; I think I found the link to it on the GTO forum, (gtoforum.com), though if I remember right.
Fact#4 the mention that the movie car had a 455 HO just like a real 70 Judge, except all Judges were only offered with the ram air 400. The 455 HO was offered in 1971.
Well, I said like a real GTO judge, I didn't specify a '70 model there specifically 😉
The producers ruined those goats with that stupid Judge cloning, and vinyl tops. But an interesting video. thanks for the tips.
I know what you mean friend; I'm not a fan of vinyl tops, AKA "rust traps" either!
But these GTO should retain the Judge appearance because they are now iconic! Would be almost like restoring the General Lee nack to its factory look. I get what your saying though!
Do the gto from 2004 punisher or the 70 gto from the facility
Punisher GTO covered here... ruclips.net/video/-7sGpH7fXGA/видео.html
The Factually GTO is on my list to look into already as well😉👍
What’s a great movie. They don’t make movies like that anymore.
Didn't one of the two original movie cars sell on eBay years ago for around 11k ?
Yeah, I think the stunt GTO was sold there once.
Did i miss the video on Wooderson's Chevelle, or is it coming? Lol
That's one car i always wanted to find out more about, i heard it was actually Matthew's car
Haven't made second rounds on films I've already touch on yet, but yes; the Chevelle is already on my to do list and is my other favorite from the movie as well 😉👍
@@CarStarz42 yes! Looking forward to it
Which men Watterson had the best the Chevelle.
Orbital orange 😂😅😂
Well, it looks good on camera at least I suppose; any GTO or any muscle car I'd own has to be black though!
@@CarStarz42 ORBIT orange is iconic
Let’s due video on the got in my science project
Indeed, been on my list for ages and will do once I've gathered up enough info on it 😉👍
You need to do the gto from sex drive
Yep, already on my list to look into. Thanks 👍
Need to do one on ss 396 chevelle driven by Mathew McConaughey...
Yep, one of the several I want to eventually do from that movie on second rounds through my massive list. Thanks
I love the fact the “actors” couldn’t drive the stick shift. What a bunch of dip sticks. Nowadays manual transmissions are millennial theft proof cars.
😁
