Creepy fact: the time difference between us listening to that 1940s song is about the same difference between that and Rubinstein writing this piano piece.
If you're talking about the first, you might consider using both hands for each chord, thus freeing a single finger, or two at the most to bring out the melodic top note. :-)
Whoa, you both COrNotToC and David Trainer take everything too seriously, don’t you? May be just true is Opus 3 and yes, is a lovely piece, but is not a masterpiece or perfect and is not exonerated of possible criticism.
These could easily fit within a Mendelssohn Songs Without Words set.
As concept, maybe, 'cause the language is rather different.
I wouldn't say it's Mendelssohn though. The first one reminds me of Schumann and the second one Liszt/Alkan.
Schumann? Sounds a lot more like Mendelssohn to me. Probably the Spring Song.@@CatkhosruShapurrjiFurabji
we'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when....
I can't ever listen to this the same again now.
Oh no, neither can I! Always thought that was a great song 😉

Are those lyrics for the first piece?
EDIT: Oh yes it is lol.
Exquisite pianism right there.
Lovely pieces! Thanks for the upload :)
So this is what traum has for his outros
A small pearl expressed in music...
At 4:32, why is the chromatically descending bottom line of the right hand omitted?
Possibly the pianist has tiny hands?
Andrei Cristian Anghel but surely the left hand could compensate?
@@Stitch87654 Yeah good point, that could easily be taken with the left hand. Dunno then :/
Andrei Cristian Anghel maybe an alternative version? Or a printing mistake in the pianists edition hahaha
alberlos fair enough.
Deliziose. Bellissimo inserimento.
Wish i knew how to make the melody line ring so strong - my thumbs just dont want to obey .smh
Give a check on fundamentals of the russian piano school, the weight transfer to the thumb is probably the "secret" of this playing
I hate my thumbs! :-)

Art Tatum did a version of this piece.
Dr. Strangelove meets Anton Rubinstein !
Maravilhoso !!!! Acalma !!!! Liindo demais !!!!
Very well done
good ol' 14a
One really can’t appreciate this song until one hears Barney Fife sing it.

Is the first piece a piano duet?
No its one piano and the melody switches between hands
This is a challenging one to read along.
Oh god! They go on forever.
While pretty, the f major melodie to me is basic sounding and a little boring..
I agree, too many repetition with no variations over the main theme. It's kinda boring. But it is nice, could be developed more though.
I'd like to critique one of your compositions, please! Please make sure it's not boring ...
