  • In this video, we will be taking a look at this magnificent North Sea-style steel trawler yacht. In fact, this is hull number one of what, I am sure, will turn out to be an incredibly popular trawler yacht.
To find out more, about this trawler yacht, email: info@mms-shiprepair.co.uk or you can fill out this expression of interest form and I will pass your details on to MMS: forms.gle/xBwYQiXhDVYbuZVX6

One major deficit of the yacht is the range compared to similar trawlers. Anyone looking for a trawler to travel the world will find the range to be severely lacking.

This is a beautiful little ship. Clearly a capable and fully functional trawler yacht. Based on its range, it would be ideally suited for extended coastal cruising in "big waters" (I'm thinking Newfoundland & Labrador as an example). While the range might seem low, I see the little ship as something that your typical "Coastal Crusier" really isn't designed for - i.e the run between safe harbors on really big water. Great find! Thats exactly what I was thinking. Our home is Sydney NS and we travel regularly to Newfoundland. This would be perfect. We are generally in 40ft ish boats. Perfectly safe for the crossing but sometimes not so much fun. Plus its essentially a work boat with the the working spaces converted to nice accomodations. but work boat thinking in that they made it it really nice using stuff that requires very little effort to keep it looking like a million bucks. The Newfs loved my brothers sailing cat. I think they would approve whole heartedly of this little beauty.

The hull structure is a beautiful design but, first MAJOR problem that kills this is the very limited range. That alone are going to kill customer sales either for business or private use... Also, the pilot house needs to be stretched further forward and the tender placed up top behind the fly bridge for better emergency access. And please note that any 50 foot needs at least 2 heads, one just isn't a sales perk .... This vessel has a great look but needs some serious redesigning if you want to make headway in the personal trawler markets. You would have a serious winner here if redone. Best wishes.

Range is lacking. I’d have added a few more feet and used it to add bigger tanks. Can’t explore much if you can’t get there. Not sure-but I wonder if a single, larger engine might be better for range here than twin engines. I get that this is an explorer type boat, but it seems over-indexed on the utilitarian side. I’d keep the functional bits, like heavy, dogged doors, but up the luxury in cabins and common areas. Add some charm.

This seems to be an all too common problem with many well known brands because of aspect ratios. Wide bodies sell the interior (the wife) at the sacrifice of hydrodynamics.

Yea they missed the mark on this one. They need to look at bearing yachts to see how trawler explorer yachts are done. This is a work boat with nicer finishes. It doesn't have enough range for explorer yacht status. The rooms look like they are out of my merchant mariner days on cargo ships. Way too much wasted space forward of the house. If they had moved the pilot house forward and lengthened the main salon they could have put the davit and tender on top of the house. I am sure its a fine sturdy seaworthy boat but for 3 million I would want more space and more bling.

This vessel was built as a fleet support vessel so her range is reflective of that role. However, if a buyer was interested in one of these as a new build then the yard would accommodate requests such as longer range capabilities etc

It looks good... but I would hate to try to use some of those things. No rim on the counters for seas. No rim on the table or depressions to hold the plates and glasses for the seas. I would rather have the bunks fold up and a desk fold down in the rooms. Lets put some seat belts on the bunks and the seats at the table. Yes, they can be very helpful. Some bungee cords in the galley wall would be good to hold equipment in place. The stove DOES feature a rail! Excellent. Now lets throw one on the edge of the counters that can fold down in calm waters. How about magnets? We could epoxy some in the dishware to hold fast in some mounted in the table... come on guys, its a heavy duty boat meant for open water. Lets make it appropriate for those open waters.

Hull number one (this one) was built as for the owner of the shipyard who never wanted to travel long distances on it (hence the range). But if an owner wanted larger fuel tanks then the yard would happily oblige

I would really like to buy it. But while there is war in my country, it is immoral and there is no time.
