    Just so you know you're awesome for being the person to finally give this fantastic little goat the attention and aftermarket that it has deserved for so long. Rewind back to '92 my dad walked me into a Yamaha dealership and I walked out with a catalog to oogle. At like 12 years old I was turning the pages and drawing all the bikes. They all kinda looked the same, some bigger, some smaller. Then I flipped a page and saw the TW200. I instantly fell in love with this bike. A few years later at 15 I bought my 1995 "fruit loop" TW. I never got to ride that bike all that much and don't have a lot of memories of it. I sold that bike at 18 to help buy my 1st car. Something like 8 years later I came across some videos or something of the TW and I simply had to have another one. I got a few 1000 miles on my 2007 and felt the need for a little more power and regretfully to this day sold it for $2k. I didn't have a bike for many years until a couple years ago when I picked up an XT250. Sold it after a season or so of discomfort and crowding. Lucked out and scored a '22 CRF300L and here I am again wanting to compliment that bike with another TW that I will NEVER EVER sell. I cannot and will not ever get this bike out of my heart it seems.

    Hands down one of THE BEST upgrades to the TW! Thank you for creating the kit! I look forward to adding it.
    P.S. - please add the link to your sales website to the description. The RUclips video is cool, but a link directly to your shop would be much appreciated.

    Very nice! I converted my 2000 Blaster from drum to disc on the front and from mechanical disc in the back to hyd disc. Changed the whole machine! We just picked up an 07 tdub here for the channel. Will be doing a cylinder base gasket, clutch, chain and sprockets on the channel here soon. Might have to look into this while it's up on the rack! Thanks man! Chris W.

    I bought the kit, and I installed it today. I like how it looks and how it fits. HOWEVER, I do not like how it functions. I can't even slide the tire on gravel. It sort of acts like it needs to be bled. Since the caliper bleeder is not at the top, I will take the unit off and rotate it so that the bleeder is at the top, and I will try to bleed it again. I could not put enough pressure on the brake peddle to slide the tire on my gravel driveway. I even tried using my heel. It just slowly came to a stop.
    Some others have whined about the zip tie. I have no problem with using a zip tie, however, I will be making something a bit more substantial in the future, IF I can get it working better than it is now. I will try the repositioning of the caliper first. I am a retired heavy equipment mechanic, so I do understand mechanical things. I took the original drum brake cam lever and cut it in half and added 1.5" in length in an attempt to get it to work better, which it did. It actually worked better than this hydraulic unit. Nobody else in this comment string is complaining, so hopefully when I rotate the caliper it will resolve my issue. If it does not, I will reach out to you again.

      If you do not have a solid pedal it definitely still has air in it. The air gets trapped in the banjo fittings. Since they are the highest point at both ends, make sure you bleed from those as well.

    I just bought 2 banjo bolts with bleeders in them. I also got some sintered pads. I removed the caliper a placed it so that the bleeder was on top. I bled it for 30 minutes. The brakes are better than they were, but still not good enough. The banjo bleeders and sintered pads should fix me up. Then I should be happy.

    Have a friend that just installed one of these and it's not working well, dont have as much stopping power as the drum brake did. Will not lock up less your in deep gravel or mud . He wanted to know if I had any ideas why, I live a long way away from him so I can't go look at myself. I asked him if he is shure he got it bled properly, I'm pretty shure he did bleed it fine he's not a dummy he been working on stuff for 60 years an is a pretty capable backyard mechanic . Wondering if you have any ideas why it just dont have the stopping power that it should.

    Can this kit be modified to fit the xt225, I have done disc brake conversions before to other bikes

  • @Kingsize24
    @Kingsize24 Год назад +1

    I love everything except the brake line. It should 90 out of the caliper, down to the arm, then follow the arm, protected, all the way to the master. Laying on top of the arm it's entire length. It's just too short to be properly routed now, and needs the steel 90 on the hose end at the caliper. It's really the ONLY thing I would engineer out.
    GREAT JOB with it otherwise! 👏

    Is there a reason the right side spacers aren't welded to the brake bracket? Obviously there is manufacturing cost/time but would it interfere somehow? I.e. if I bought this could I weld the spacers to the bracket and have a much easier time installing the wheel?

    • @bradleyperformanceproducts
      @bradleyperformanceproducts  Год назад +2

      Good observation. We thought of that and tried it both ways. We tried welding the outside spacer to the caliper bracket as well as the inner. Both make it infinitely harder to assemble. You wouldn't think so just looking at it, but it really helps to be able to move the bracket around without the spacers welded to it.

    I could see 4 holes on the disc that held the drum. 3 of them looked to be the same size, 8mm I think, but the 4th hole was smaller and it looks to be left open to the elements. Does that need to be plugged up?

    • @bradleyperformanceproducts
      @bradleyperformanceproducts  Год назад

      I'm not quite sure what you might be referring to, but the disc is 4 bolt while the adapter hub to the wheel is 3 bolt. Hope that clears up your concern.

    how much does it cost for this conversion?

  • @skipro3
    @skipro3 Год назад

    Every rear disc brake line is longer, running against the swingarm. Yours looks mighty vulnerable hanging without any support. After miles of bouncing, I would think the line would fail where it attaches from the constant movement.

    • @matthewpeterson3329
      @matthewpeterson3329 Год назад

      Time will tell. I like everything about this conversion except for the zip tie. I would happily pay $30 more for the kit if it had an engineered clamp that would mount to the stock steel loop and hold the line captive outboard of the loop... the line (at least at the angle in the video) looks like it might get hooked by a knobbie, especially if the zip tie were to fail. Otherwise, this kit looks awesome.

    • @Rusty-Hinge
      @Rusty-Hinge Год назад

      A drill, a tap two P clips and 2 stainless screws would fix that.
      Cost - free to anyone with the self esteem to have man stuff hanging around.

    • @skipro3
      @skipro3 Год назад

      @@Rusty-Hinge It's not an issue of completing the job, the issue is that the brake line is too short to run along the swingarm. It needs a couple more inches to route lower so it can be attached securely.

      @@Rusty-Hinge Gee gosh Vic, you're such a stud. I bet the women swoon. Nope, I took a look at your profile. Listen up... anyone looking at this video is either a TDub owner, or plans to be. We are enthusiasts looking to find new stuff, as well as help builders and buyers mitigate mistakes. If Skipro3 makes a comment about the brake line, it's because he likely has experience with this specific issue. When a person spends $300 bucks on a kit, they have every expectation that it will be properly tested so that they have absolute confidence in their purchase and it's performance. Look at the pic on the Bradley website... that brake line looks like it is BEGGING to be torn off by the tire. Now back you your self esteem and your hanging man stuff... this kit, if absolutely properly done, would have a clamp for the line that mates to the stock swing arm loop so it is captive. It would not come with a fucking zip tie. The buyer should not have to get creative. I very much like this kit, and I plan to buy it, but we are completely justified in pointing out potential problems prior to purchase, and Bradley has all rights to counter our comments.
