More games at the quality and fun of FF7R series pls
Sick of Final Fantasy?? Absolutely not. Sick of 3-5 year old games getting $50+ remasters? Absolutely yes
What question are you answering? 😂 what does tht have to do with bad sales of final fantasy
@@piusdoe8984 literally the title of the video
@@expsharevideogames That has nothing to do with the video though.
People saying FF needs to go back to turn based clearly havent played Bravely Default or Octopath Traveler. Those are FF games but name. If those didnt sell well what makes ppl think Square would invest in a AAA version of those.
This makes sense for Square Enix. Final fantasy 16 was awesome and the FF7 remake games are incredible. Being exclusive to one console hurts Square Enix.
PlayStation wont be happy though.
Not in the slightest. I still haven't beat remake though. Most of us have big back catalogs to get through before we can even get to Rebirth or new games.
As someone who's been watching the full episodes, whoever is making these thumbnails and highlight titles is KILLING IT. Last few got me so intrigued and riled up, I clicked even though it's a topic I'd already seen!
Don’t be silly
Its also remake came out on ps4 which theres alot more owners then ps5.
I love final fantasy series n just hope they think smart cause alot game companys arent lately as we know i just dont get it.
I’m not 🤷🏿♂️
Nope. We’re not sick of it. Square just needs to space them out a bit more. I think from 2016 to 2020 there was a one big Square game a year and they were different.
2016 had Final Fantasy 15, 2017 Dragon Quest 11 and Nier Automata, 2018 was Octopath, 2019 was Kingdom Hearts 3 and 2020 was Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Granted game development today is much different than it was years ago but if they could get to that similar cadence it could be beneficial
Seeing that im chomping at the bit for Dawntrails release in 6 weeks id say... no. Not at all.
I feel like FF7 remake did better because people didn't really talk about how it was just the first part of the original. So you had both FF fans buying it, and a lot of the casual market, or younger market going "Yea, let's see what all the fuss is about". Some will have liked it, but been annoyed that this wasn't the whole game. A lot will have bounced off it. A small percentage will have loved it and been waiting for the next part.
And then there's a different version or a DLC with characters the wider market don't know, and a lot of the bigger audience doesn't buy it. And now we get part 2, and they did a really bad job of marketing it. Any ads, previews or reviews I've seen make out like it's basically a whole game of "filler episode". Not saying that's what it is, but compared to what the first game was it's a massive tonal shift.
So yea, now you've completely lost the wider market. FF fans will have bought it and loved it, but I feel like this game was only really sold to FF die hards so that's the only people who bought it.
It reminds me of Kingdom Hearts. 1, 2 and 3 sold fairly well, the "mainline", the keystones, but everything between sold poorly. And it's similar numbers across the rest of those games (1.2-1.8m) which you can't tell me isn't mostly the same people buying them.
Umm......Fuck no? I need more FF games immediately....I went from "take my money" to "make more things to take my money pls"
Pretty much where I'm at.
About “the moment” Final Fantasy VII Remake had, everyone has to remember the context it launched on: the only big game from April 10, 2020 onwards for a while was FF7 Remake, also in the middle of early pandemic lockdowns.
Rebirth coming in at such a crowded time on top of how much FF we’ve had (and the name “Rebirth” confusing some casual people that didn’t realize it was “Remake Part 2”), its why it feels it didn’t have a moment similar, even though its also a perception thing. I feel I see so much talk about Rebirth all over my socials 😂
And not to mention remake released on PS4 with over 100 million units sold compared to PS5s 50 million units giving remake a much larger potential audience.
Yeah I feel like people didn't shut up about Rebirth for 3 months. I feel like it's JUST NOW starting to slow down. But 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
@@CrossOutBryce THANK YOU!
To be sick if Final Fantasy, I'd have had to have played one and none since 9 have Interested me enough to really commit to.
No
No but i think square is sick of Sony 😂😂😂😂
I dont understand how there are too many Final Fantasy games considering outside of remakes and remasters there's been only a couple in the past few years. The PlayStation exclusivity didn't make much sense if PlayStation isn't paying top dollar for it. Third party exclusivity in general needs to go away.
I dont think its the quality of FF games this time around. There’s just more competition in getting people’s time
As an Xbox player, nope lmao 😂 I’d buy 16 and the 7 remakes in a heartbeat if they came to Xbox tho
No. Give me FF9R now while 17 cooks please.
FF7 Rebirth is now my favorite game of all time. Reading headlines like this breaks my heart.
I am, rebirth is so boring in some spots man im fighting to beat it lol
That's me on 16 lol
i fell off both im wondering if im playing the same game everyone else us
That sucks since its so fun and the best game in a long time
No. Bought all the games in the thumbnail. And the pixel remasters.
Not tired. But can understand if there needs to be a more streamlined control of the franchise to maintaine control of quality.
But for me honestly Square made a bad bet in live service and nft bull*** and people want to dump blame solely on 16 and 7R exclusivity.
And maybe that is one part of it, but not the whole thing.
If you can make a game as amazing as FF7Rebirth and lose $50M, there's something wrong.
Wtf short answer big NO!!!!
I blame the cowards lack of concretely choosing Tifa as best gurl 😂
Not even a little
Yes.
I am mostly sick of the new battle system and graphical design and story. I would rather something sprite based with some good story and less focus on massive super graphic intensive games, and more classic battle systems in some fashion.
No im more tired of the 544543 versions of TLOU
Final Fantasy is one of the few franchise in the game industry that completely upends itself with every. Single. Release. Outside of trappings like Chocobos and Cactuars and so FF is never the same animal. FFXIV is a completely different beast from FFXV and different from FFXVI and so on backwards.
For Rebirth, its the second entry in a trilogy, historically those always tend to under perform there's more hype for the for the first part and last part, middles always get the short end of the stick. Couple that with a busy release season and likely out of wack sales expectations because A) Square Enix and B) Post pandemic expectation bloat no shit it underperformed.
XVI, completely different genre, dofferent beast, and the DMC/Bayonetta style action games never do super well but they do enough when your budget is in check and Square Enix has never understood that.
I'll take a wild bet and say Dawntrail will underperform too as the start of a new MMO story, hope I'm wrong but I bet a lot of FFXIV people tapped out after Endwalker because the story was done.
So no people aren't sick of Final Fantasy but Final Fantasy has taken some wild swings since FF12 and maybe its time to play it a bit safer. Go back and look at what made FFX and FFVII and FFIX so beloved, study why people want games like Chrono Trigger back, why Persona/SMT has been FEASTING and you'll have the headlines going crazy with "Final Fantasy is back".
Sony needs to pay A LOT more to have them as exclusive. Otherwise they need to launch day 1 on PC and PS5.
First
Never sick of FF. BUT I think they’re just spreading themselves a little too thin. They’re currently doing the FF7 Remake series, so there was no need to focus on 16 or 17, especially knowing they were going to separate the game into multiple. Not a good idea on their part. But since that’s what they decided, instead of making 16 they should’ve just stayed on the same track and go straight into Rebirth after Remake to keep the momentum so that Rebirth could’ve come out sooner. Not only that but they need to do something outside of the box. The attention and anticipating for the original Versus 13 and for the Agnis’ Pholosophy Tech Demo, shows that they can do something different with the franchise and build interest and sell better, but they need to focus on one thing at a time.
Totally different teams are making 16 vs 7 Remake series... Rebirth came out in 4 years after remake which is an insane pace as it is. That team went right from remake into rebirth. You have no idea what you are talking about.
@@ArdentSnow Clearly, you didnt understand. It doesn’t matter if it’s two different teams, it’s still the same company. That means that the budget as well as the resources come from the same source aka Square Enix. All I’m saying is that All Hands on Deck would be a better way of doing it. Greg literally said the time between both games was too long. X was released in ‘01 and X-2 in 03. XIII release in ‘09, XIII-2 in ‘11 and Lightning Returns in ‘13. They can do it. I guess you don’t know what you’re talking about either.
@@Lauren-zx3gxyou don't need 2 whole ass dev teams working on 1 game... SE is a publisher... just like any other publisher with several teams making several games... they are no different than EA publishing 2 games a year apart by different teams. You are making an argument that doesn't make sense in almost every single way.
And dev times are just much longer in general now than they were 10 years ago... the dev time on those games means nothing now in game development in general. If you don't realize that the development time from remake to rebirth is astonishingly fast, you don't know what you are talking about.
@@ArdentSnow I’m talking about the series. Not a single game. But okay dude. Continue getting triggered. Lol
Also you’re right.. it’s been 10 years. They have more resources and a whole ass engine that makes their job easier than what it was. It’s for the dev time to be shorter, not longer. Makes zero sense.
@@Lauren-zx3gxah, yea... the "you're just triggered" argument... its clear you have no fundamental idea how game design works in any way. lol.
Putting 2 whole devs teams worth of people on 1 game does not make it go any faster... it's exactly like Resident Evil Remakes vs Resident evil 7 and 8...
I’m sick of ff7 rerelease/remake , hack and slash gameplay and mediocre stories
WOW who could of ever predicted changing final fantasy fundamentality would lower it's sales.
Just make a real turn based ff and we will be happy make the action games a separate thing
When the only news is talking about sales and then studios shut down ..
I don’t know man. You guys wanna become the next IGN?
Square Enix has problem from 3 final fantasy games coming out in 3 years.. to investing in NFT.
Kinda funny should shift focus on making videos celebrating games and creating awareness rather than pretend news castor.. we already have enough stuff like this
This is literally their game news show, and studio shutting down and low sales have been a huge part of gaming news of recent… what do you expect them to talk about? Just watch their other content like Gamecast if you want a different kind of convo
100% Sick of Final Fantasy, SquareEnix does not give enough love to other franchises of which there are many and so many other new ones that could be made. KH case in point...
There are like 20 other franchises that need love before Kingdom Hearts.
