The Guardians of the Galaxy went from one of the most obscure properties of Marvel's to one of the most beloved. Vol 2 is also really good and Vol 3 that just hit theaters was amazing. Easily the most soild MCU series IMO.

Naw... 2 fell off pretty substantially and the 3rd was a huge letdown for the end of a trilogy... tons of loose threads, nothing new happening, playing on all the old jokes and treating them as much funnier than they are, and a decent story about rocket that also goes nowhere... Very lackluster considering how solid this movie is (though not without it's issues and corny dialog to rival Lucas writing)

It then changed the whole perspective of the MCU, meaning every movie that came after had a lot more humor and dared to be more emotional. You can see a clear contrast between the films in phase one compared to phase three.

I never knew anything about Guardians of The Galaxy when it came out. Went into the movies very skeptical, we walked out with this being at the time, and still today, one of our favorite MCU movies ever. We have probably seen it a dozen times, and its just as good every time.
@@dies3156 - I feel there was a bunch of humor that falls flat or goes on for too long, and the great music selection doesn't always feel as organicaly placed compared to the previous two volumes, but the movie is phenomenal! The High Evolutionary is a great and really utterly hateable villain (in a good way), and a great performance. Everything about Rocket's backstory is gosh darn tear-jerking and kind of upsetting/disturbing for any animal lover. There is a bunch I want to go on about, though best I let you enjoy it for yourself, but this is a fantastic cap to this trilogy, and so so very emotional; movie had me in tears several times.
When Starlord showed the sphere to the Collector...and dropped it. That was by accident and not the script, but Chris stayed in character so they went with it :D
I remember my buddy and I going to see this opening weekend, not thinking it was going to be anything of importance or really all that special. Boy, were we wrong. What a fun movie that was.
Gotg is basically a group of misfits that become a family. It was a group that wasn't very popular but when the movie came out it immediately became S tier I'm ngl they just did gotg vol3 and it is heartbreaking. It'll probably take you guy a year before you react to that movie but I can already not wait
I barely knew the guardians before this and I was more impressed with this than I thought. I was already crying at the beginning since I love my mother very much.
Aside from the great music and humor, part of what makes this movie work is that they are constantly showing you something new, and it's either cool or important. The story never sits in one place for very long.

Djimon Honjshou pronounces his name "JAI-munn HONN-soo." He is an amazing actor. The Guardians of the Galaxy started as a comic back in the 1970s, and there are some of us who are amazingly glad this movie got made because we've been reading it since the 70s.
I think they perfectly wrote every character. I wish Drax was a lil more of a monster but he’s still a good character. When this first came out I was like who are these guys? So glad I gave them a chance. Great movie, Soundtrack, and reaction from y’all

In the end scene, when the dog is licking Tivan, and the character says "what did you let him lick you for ?", is Howard the Duck. A nod to the film from 86, The FIRST Feature length film with a Marvel character.

After the success of the first Avengers movie, NO ONE expected the Guardians of the Galaxy to be the first non-Iron Man, Thor, and Cap MCU movie because even in the comic book realm, they were so obscure at the time, especially compared to a lot of the characters in the movies you guys will be coming up on in the future. Marvel put the fate of their future and their chances to really become an expanded cinematic universe into this movie, and if it had flopped like alottttt of people thought it would, the MCU would probably look veryyyy different than it does today. That’s what makes this movie so special, is it was just so unexpectedly great.

I have been a comic reader since i was about 7 or 8, I’m 38 now. I had never gotten into any Guardians comics and a friend told me i should. So i picked up Abnett and Lannings Guardians of the Galaxy series and ended up reading almost every series since then. I remember having to defend this movie from people who didn’t know any better back when the trailers were first coming out. I love Peter Quill. Amazing character and one of the best leaders in Marvel comics. His guns are elemental guns. So they can fire any of the four elements. I will say, as the MCU does a lot, they nerfed Gamora and Drax quite a bit. Theres not really a comparison between their comic book selves and MCU selves. Im loving yalls journey through the MCU and all yalls other videos as well!! Guardians also still has one of my favorite Thanos scenes in the MCU. That scene with him and Ronan is great. Im a big fan of the villains if your wondering why. Cant wait for the next video. I know yall enjoyed Sicario, i would highly recommend Wind River from 2017. Taylor Sheridan wrote Sicario, he also wrote and directed Wind River. Its a severely under appreciated movie. Heat is another one i cant recommend enough!! One of the best movies ever made if your asking me. Its a top ten for me.
Now that I've seen Guardians Volume 3, I can confidently say this is the best MCU Subseries. Volume 2 ramps up everything that works about this movie into an insane, chaotic, surprisingly heartfelt, and wonderful ride. And Volume 3 is a perfect conclusion to the characters' stories. I cannot wait for you two to experience it!
In addition to the joke about starlord trying to make a name for himself it is also a joke about the whole guardian of the galaxy which before the movie was an obscure comic.
This is probably my favourite MCU film and I actually worked on it! I did a lot of the interior for peters ship. Being inside it without even knowing this franchise before it came out and then having this was amazing I just never got to go on set when actors were there 😩😩
I forgot what marvel movie I seen at the movie theater and the trailer for GOTG was shown and most people were confused by what was going on. I remember even telling my cousin this looked dumb especially when I seen rocket and groot. I was like they have a talking racoon and tree? Then on release day my cousin was like let's just go see it, we seen all the other mcu movies, so why not. I'm glad I went because the reaction everybody had and I after the movie ended was crazy. I think most people thought it would be stupid but it ended up being a good/fun movie.

Something worth noting is how Gamora respects Star-Lord by the end of the film. Everyone calls him Quill, but she calls him Peter.
And in her last line to him she calls him Star Lord.

As far as "serious" roles, John C. Reilly (the guy from Stepbrothers) was in Chicago and Boogie Nights, both good movies.
He's also in the 2011 film, "We Need to Talk About Kevin", which is a heartbreaking psychological thriller.
Completely serious in The Perfect Storm too.

This is probably my favourite MCU film and I actually worked on it! I did a lot of the interior for peters ship. Being inside it without even knowing this franchise before it came out and then having this was amazing I just never got to go on set when actors were there 😩😩
You guys saw Thanos at the mid-credit scene of The Avengers
I forgot what marvel movie I seen at the movie theater and the trailer for GOTG was shown and most people were confused by what was going on. I remember even telling my cousin this looked dumb especially when I seen rocket and groot. I was like they have a talking racoon and tree? Then on release day my cousin was like let's just go see it, we seen all the other mcu movies, so why not. I'm glad I went because the reaction everybody had and I after the movie ended was crazy. I think most people thought it would be stupid but it ended up being a good/fun movie.
