Thank you for taking time to help us! I'm going to put some perfume on them to see if that will freshen the overall smell inside mine. 😅
You are very welcome. I would not recommend using a perfume, because it may create an environment for growing bacteria and fungi. You may try spraying a disinfectant(Clorox or similar) into the filter air intake while the AC is running. But not too much.

Great vid ivoovi. To the top right hand side of the first filter in the air intake housing there is a hole. You can see it at 3:15 on your vid. When I removed my filter I inadvertently knocked out a plug and can’t see it below. There doesn’t seem to be one in your vid. Any idea what it’s for?

This is a common problem with this generation GLE. Not all cars were affected, but there was enough for having a class action lawsuit. I heard some people take the filters out, and while the ac is running they spray a little disinfectant into the air intake.

can i ask you one thing? my gle350 has no splash shield under the engine, so i can see the ground through the engine space. is it normal?
I do have that shield, but still can see the ground a little.

Thanks. Filters are the same, as the ionization module is behind the dash and does not affect the filter compartment.

To 2012-2014 ML350 the filters comp located under the glovebox not like this
This video shows how to replace all three cabin air filters. By going through the glove box, you can only access two out of three filters. Bonus: this method is also easier and faster! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, helping us save $$, and also enabling us to feel the satisfaction of completing a well done job! I will have to use both my hands though…
