- Hi friends! College is about a month away which means back to school videos are here! In today's video, I answer some common questions students have about Lehigh such as financial aid, Greek life/the social scene, academics, housing, as well as racism. Lehigh is a pretty big party school where Greek life has a big presence on campus, however, that isn't everything there is. I'm not a big party person and I still enjoy it there! For racism, there is no clear cut answer of whether it exists on campus or not because it literally exists EVERYWHERE no matter if you have encountered it or not. As I explain in the video, I can only speak on my experience which will be different from yours. As an East Asian (I'm Taiwanese/Chinese), I don't receive the same stereotypes or discrimination as someone who is Black or Brown so my experience doesn't define all of Lehigh (nor does any one person). This video has made it a little easier to consider Lehigh, so far I rlly liked Lehigh in terms of my intended major of finance and the staff and everyone seems nice. The only aspect that really worried me was the diversity and being a minority(south Asian) I just am not sure if making the move from Texas to Lehigh would be the best in terms of social life. I rlly do like the academic part of it however. Has anything changed from when you posted this video? Thank You!

hi! i also rlly like the academic side of Lehigh and i have had many opportunities to pursue my interests that will benefit my career in the future! the diversity aspect, however, is definitely still lacking but i have found a group of individuals that i rlly like being around. most of my friends are asian lol and going to asian/minority clubs/orgs to meet new people can rlly help! i hope that helps :)

I was a bit confused about the themed housing option when signing my housing contract, is it a floor of the dorms or are first year's required to live in heir community houses?
first years are required to live in the dorms! there's several to choose from and you can see the floor plans online at lehigh's housing website. Themed housing is where certain dorms are chosen to be a certain theme (e.g. STEM). Themed housing is not a separate type of building. Hope that helps!
