Every time I watch one of these video's, it still boggles the mind how much Urban/Country area's there are in Japan. And it is rather pretty to ride though. Stay safe and have a Happy New Year.
That's Hokkaido for ya! It's the most sparsely populated of the main islands in Japan. Also in southern Japan like Kyushu Island there's a lot of 'jungle' and not very densely populated unlike the northern part of the island (Kitakyushu urban center).
Disrepair, rust, demographic situation... Hokkaido often looks as "exUSSR" despite plans for division of Japan never actually came into fruition. Somewhat funny. Nevertheless, have a good new year!

Rumor-Ishikari Numata will be abandoned at the end of March 2023, and Ishikari Numata-Fukagawa will be abandoned in 2026.
