I like to sear these these homemade meatballs in a hot pan to help form a tasty crust before finishing them in some homemade marinara sauce. I hope you guys enjoy my best ever recipe for homemade Italian meatballs and try them for yourself! Oh berother!!!! Do they look good. I never thought to sautee carrot and celery as a base for my sauce. I sautee garlic in olive oil with a pat of butter. I add some of my Rao's and let it bubble a bit then I add diced tomato that I put through the sieve. This way I don't need to add sugar because I've strained out the skins. Mine is zesty but not hot, a nice sunny and rich tomato flavor. I'd like to try the carrot celery thing though! Thank you for posting.

    Actually olive oil can’t stand high heat temperatures because you destroy it’s properties and becomes acidic. Sunflower 🌻 or coconut oil are able to resist high temperatures. So if you use olive oil it would only be for its flavor otherwise it’s only meant to be used in dressings and benefit from its wonderful and amazing health properties 😌

    Bobby can you do a section on how you keep your cutting board so clean. I see you cutting all kinds of stuff on it yet it does not appear stained or in bad condition. I love using wooden boards but they get stained and I keep hearing they are bad for bacteria. I do have the plastic ones for meats, fish, chicken and veggies to lessen cross contamination for meal preps but I keep my wooden ones for bread, baking and day to day stuff.

    I always put the meat mixture on a cutting board, press it gently into an oblong about an inch and a half high, cut it into squares the size that you want the meatballs to be, then shape. This way they’re all the same size and you don’t have to keep digging into the mixture.

    That's the way Nawny showed me to make meatballs and tomato sauce. Exactly right and magnificent. BTW. What to add a special effect. Add pork ribs to the sause at first then the balls. The ribs add a pork flavor falls off the bones. Simmer for hour and half then add balls last half hour. Manga bene. Stay true to heritage and can't go wrong.

      50/50 ground beef and veal..will still be great!

    Didnt have veal so used pork, beef and chopped prosciutto. These are hands down the lightest most flavorful meatballs ever.

      oh wow..great call with the prosciutto!

    The main reason I don't deep fry with olive oil is that it costs about $25 per gallon.

    I watched your video on the meatballs to see if your recipe was any different than mine..but actually its just about the same as mine. I do one other recipe that just uses Italian sausage and beef. Your meatballs look superlicious!

    Sorry Bobby, I am confused. Other tube said coconut oil has a higher smoke point...so there's conflicting opinions of the claim. Is there any way we can test them side by side once and for all, 😅? Love your postings on Tubes. Thanks.

    Awesome recipe!! Just got your book. Making something new everyday. Quick question. My meatballs were falling apart during cooking. Any tips on what I did wrong.

      Todd Etter my guess would be not enough egg or tooo much breadcrumbs.

    I have a dairy/milk allergy... if I wanted to make these meatballs, but needed to leave out the cheese, what would you suggest as an alternative binder in the meatball recipe?

    • @BobbyParrish
      @BobbyParrish  5 лет назад +3

      soak the bread in unsweetened almond or rice milk...and use nutritional yeast instead of cheese!
