Early access my ass there used to be a Half -Life, mod called The Specialists in like 2001 and it was loooots better and faster paced than this.

Anyway You made a great game, I already bought it, I hope my small money can somehow help you and New Blood build more awesome contents for the game. I bought the game even before New Blood interactive got hand on this.

the extensive usage of particles takes a toll on the ram.
It's probably Unity being used as a cookie cutter engine instead of being modified or even a custom engine.

I'm sure the dev's are having trouble optimizing unity.
I don't mind graphics but they should make some good animations for this that would be bad ass
@Channel07 Unity isn't terribly un-optimized, I think it's more of a case of developers not knowing how to program efficiently or simply not knowing the ins and outs of the engine. E.g. not taking garbage collection into account, creating excessive monobehaviours when there's no need to, not taking advantage of occlusion culling, using Vector3.Distance too liberally and so on.

I have watched probably 90% of your videos, and this one is probably one of the best ones you've ever done.
You've managed to put your usual huge amount of work into it and made it look easy. The whole thing is clever, entertaining, open-minded, very informative, and simply well thought out.
You've managed to keep what made you original, unique and appealing in your beginnings, despite gaining considerable production values, revenue and recongnition.

I think what really makes this game stand out is the sound design and the fact that enemies have some sort of subdued ragdoll effect depending on where they're shot at which creates multiple ways to topple them over. I'd like to see a more complex dismemberment system than the one in place now, though. When he was using the sword nothing seemed to be getting chopped off, if any limb on the body could be blown of chopped off in slightly more detail that could make the game even more enjoyable

I am starting to really like New Blood Interactive. They are getting a rather tidy list of fun games to their name. They are not into the most photo realistic graphics, and sometimes their story is bare bones, but they are ALL about challenge and fun. You know, the big things games are for.

The end of level replay reminds me of empire at war cinematic mode, very charming
Only thing I wish this game did at a base level was for bigger maps with objectives a-la GoldenEye. It clearly takes some inspiration for it, and I feel like having larger setpieces with support for objective based play would be really cool.
Gman lives, dude, this is a single player copy of an old and forgotten gold source mod called the Specialists. That one included quite similar bullet time and pistol play. Also, if I am not mistaken some of the sounds are taken from it. Check it out. I've always struggled to believe why it hasn't grown popular. You can do even more tricks there, Neo-style bullet dodge, can choose to equip silencer, laser and flashlight to many guns, you can choose to go dual wield and much more. Please, check it out, because this thing is heavily "inspired" from that mod.

Your starting description sounds a lot like Action Quake 2, HL: The Specialists or HL: The Opera mods. I'm liking it already.
I've been a big fan of John Woo type action films for over 20 years, I remember getting Max Payne 1 and playing it on my 666mhz PC, and it was the greatest thing ever. I remember playing hours upon hours of Action Quake 2, and eventually Action Half-Life (not as good) and then of course F.E.A.R. (the first is the only good game imo). So anyway, this should be right up my alley...but I hate this kind of art style, and I know it might be necessary due to budget restraints on a small team, but I just wish we could see something that looked more realistic. Part of what kept me loving gaming was watching it evolve, it's really hard for me to go backwards.

Speaking of which, there's an licensed indie FPS Terminator game that is based ONLY on the T1 and T2 films...set in the future, from the point of view of the Resistance (mostly)... it's called Terminator Resistance.
I found this game in its really early stages when looking for an FPS with active ragdolls instead of static animation. I wasn't disappointed and it makes me want more shooters like it. Physics based recoil beats predictable spray patterns.
Could have fooled me to be an late 90s fps, to be fair. Graphics style is spot on.
Well this just went on my wishlist, thanks for covering games that no one else does. This reminds of the days of playing the first Max Payne, and the matrix mod for it.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Calico got some love, it's skipped over way too often by other pcc's.
The start of the jungle map is definitely a nod to GoldenEye 64.

Dual welding repeaters are fun but dual wielding Winchester shotguns are orgasmic. Also you can dual wield any weapon - pistol + SMG, RPG + machine gun etc.

It looks incredibly fun, but watching this gameplay makes my head spin. It's like a constant camera stutter. Does it feel like this in the game?

Hey fun fact: During the jungle scene you can jump kick the rockets away and sometimes they can go back to their sender.
The 1# issue that I STILL have with this game is the fact that there has still been no fix for the off-center point of aim when ADS(aiming down sight). I play a lot of competitive fps games and "getting used to" something that is not correct could potentially harm my muscle memory.

Holy shit! Finally someone is giving this game attention! I remember seeing videos about this last year but they only had about a hundred views or even less. It’s a pretty badass game so far, so I’m glad it’s getting the praise it deserves.
I’m surprised he didn’t mention the fact that if you hold down the trigger on non-automatic weapons, you can “charge” a shot. If you do this in bullet time you can stop time entirely(even while in air).
Edit: also, you know you can store any two weapons in your holsters for later use.
Edit 2: in bullet time, you can shoot the rockets and kick them back. Also, I think they don’t explode when they hit you in bullet time.
Gotta appreciate these indie guys going for the low poly aesthetic glad to see it hasn’t gone out of style
