This game was SO good. I played a lot of the N64, GameCube, and GBA versions of Mario Golf, but this one stands out as something truly different. It’s really a shame that the other Mario Golf games - and other golf games in general - didn’t follow in the footsteps of Mario Golf for GBC. Graphical advances aside, no golf game in the last 15 years has been as immersive or unique as this. Thanks for uploading! I haven’t played this in almost 20 years, I’m sure this will be a pleasant trip down memory lane.
I honestly HATED Golf Story... The fact that it won't let you zoom out or even look at the course you're playing on at all means you can't strategize your shots at all... Your literally shooting blind at all times. I HATED that! It ruined it for me.
This is really more like a sequel of the original 'Golf' for Game Boy from 1990. A lot of the same mechanics and sound effects. That game was the game that got me to convince my Dad getting a Game Boy was a good idea. He was excited to see me get interested in the sport through that game.
I remember when I was around 7 I brought my GBA with this game to a get together at the beach my family was doing and for like 80% of the trip I only played this game until the batteries ran out lol
I hope both this and Mario Tennis GBC come to the Nintendo Switch Online in the future! I got this Mario Golf GBC game when I was 7-years-old! I never got Mario Tennis GBC at all, except the Nintendo eShop along with Mario Golf GBC on my New Nintendo 2DS XL before the shutdown!
This is Camelot combining the two things they're good at (RPGs & sports games) into one tight package... Okay, 4 packages. I had Mario Tennis on GBC growing up. Never played this one or the GBA games.
I love this game and its GBA sequel. They combine RPG and sports game perfectly, and as someone who doesn’t play a lot of RPGs, this is one of my favorite games of all time. I love that you have the freedom to make your character as powerful or as balanced as you want. Want to hit the ball 300 yards?! You can do it! Tired of missing the sweet spot? Just make it as big as possible!
The console versions of these types of games tend to be better because they can do more and they take advantage of the technological superiority. This is an exception. This is, hands down, the best Mario Golf game on any platform.
Did my game glitch? Playing on the Switch version. When I select my saved character, I can’t get to the game modes menu. Just takes me back to continue my story mode. Help?
Is there any diffsrence in doing all the Match Plays vs the Champs at the starting Marion Course aside for getting less EXP points? It seems you don't have to play them each on their respective course which is kind of weird. Am wondering if theres any drawback to just facing them all on the starting course?
Apparently, Azalea was just Princess Daisy's 2D Mario Golf replacement. This and Mario Golf Advance Tour were the only 2 games Azalea has appeared in. I never was a fan of Azalea because her design looked too similar to Princess Daisy's future designs. Nintendo made the right choice of not bringing back Azalea in other games. If anyone has to be Peach's tomboyish semi-clone, it's not Azalea.

I joined a trainning golf class after playing this a lot. And I was 8 or 9 years old. True story.

I'm having the same issue lol. Seems like as soon as you go to the clubhouse the game modes menu disappears.
