Finally! The game of my dreams! I've been designing tanks and AFVs since grade 5, and i'm still doing it xD I only recently designed an 8 wheeled IFV, enough space for 8 guys in the back, 2x2 tube ATGM launchers mounted either side of the turret, and a 90mm long barreled gun. Secondary weapons are twin coax, a read facing turret MG, and the commander cupola also has 4 mgs. Most of the frontal armour is sloped at around 55-60° and is nade of 40mm plates, panzerworlds armour calculator gave me 234mm effective thickness on the upper glacis plate if i remember correctly. I saw on their roadmap that they plan to implement the ability to make custom parts via 3D modeling and putting it on the steam workshop. I hope ATGMs come someday to this game.
@@RedVRCC That would be epic. I'm hoping that eventualy we'll be able to manyally place crew and componants down, or be able to switch between different types of modules, for example, going from vertical ammo racks to horizontal or wet stowage. Can I just say that I don’t fully understand 90% of what was said in these three comments but I just love to see people being invested in something and not be insulted for it, because it happens so much on this platform, well every platform really.
I bought this instantly because I can almost guarantee the price will shoot up once it becomes more fleshed out. This game is super fun imo, you can already get some pretty cool results and even recreate modern MBTs. With a bit of creativity, you can in fact use parts in ways they weren't intended to so that you can emulate modern things (ie using a second larger drivers hatch as a modern gunner sight on top of the turret, using riveted panels scaled down as ERA, etc)
Honestly the most fun I had in a Tank Game. I started with a single design that worked great for the first two missions with small improvements. I then had to take my case-mated design, added a turret and upgraded it for the rest of the missions. All in all it was really fun to do.
I focused on armor mobility and rate of fire on my build. It made it through every scenario. It took some trial and error though. The suspension simply sucked at first and the turret felt like a turtle was rotating it.
I recreated an M1A2 Abrams (or at least tried to) in the Sandbox mode, and modified it in the Scenarios to make it possible to use it there, such as changing the barrel length, ammo count or slight adjustments to the hull. I stuck with that design until the end and I never had to make any major changes to my Abrams to make it usable and effective on those missions, other than making the turret fixed to the hull in No Man's Land. It always had a 120mm cannon, always had the same engine and tracks, and more or less stayed faithful to the M1A2.
Wait It’s one guy? Man I love that dude he is making my days so much better with all the content being made. Seems like sales are good at the moment and I hope it will keep rising
Applique and stand-off armor would be cool in this. I want to take pretty much every tank design ever that I have gripes with and make them better. And if the eras are expanded, taking mid-to-late WWII tanks and modernizing them. That South American Stuart modernization was cool; a T-34 would work as an infantry support vehicle, etc.

Another game that has a fun learning cliff is "From The Depths". It's originally a ship building game, but there's a campaign for ground units as well. I feel like it fits the theme close enough to comment here.
The first thing I built was my take on a HSTV-L in sprocket. It looks good but doesn't perform too well though. The second tank i made consists of super high angles everywhere with enough armor to withstand over 300mm of penetration all around. Means turret has 80° all around, the hull too. And with hull i even mean the sides. The only part penetrable is the backside. Really a fun game!
I bought this game on a third day of release, and honestly? It sucked me in. From the learning hours on what to do, to the challenges that increased my skill in design and understanding of mechanics and small details. That is such a good game, and it just came out! Despite some small glitches(like internal space sometimes changes values depending on the Scenario), I already love this game.

I think it would be a great idea for a series where you use this game to redesign tanks from the past to the current gen in a way you'd make them or go about with upgrading them.
Still not fully got my head around the engine and transmission yet but even with most of my tanks stalling on hills or blowing up their engine at anything more than walking pace it has been well worth the price already.
I have been having fun playing sprocket, first heard about it from ConeofArc, and its quite interesting. Can't wait for the future updates, especially when the guy fixes traction, cause its quite poor.
From what I'm seeing, I would say the customization and volume and weight ratio limit system of Sprocket seems to be a much more in depth and complex version of Warship Gunner where you can create warships using existing to fictional futuristic weapons and defensive and offensive systems and I love Warship Gunner so seeing this I am actually thinking of getting it and would probably enjoy it more than Warthunder
I would like the feature of sharing designs and seeing which one would be the best. Like a contest between light, medium and heavy tanks individually to see which tank in that class is the best.
I made a super beefy brawler. 152mm medium sized gun, but max armor on front and sides. It's a latewar tank, so its capped at 100 tons for scenarios, and it reaches 98 tons. Somehow though, it's still capable of getting to 20mph, with a max of 22.
What I'm surprised of this game is that if you attempt to reproduce properly a real tank (shape and size, engine size and cylinders, gun data, armor thickness, maximum speed, number of gears, number of shells inside the vehicle, crew members...), the overall weight of the ingame vehicle tends to match the real one. I reproduced a Pz. III and a KV-2, and in both cases it was within 1 ton of tolerance compared to the real thing. Also ideas like "enlong the shell size to create more weight inside the turret for better lever balance to speed up gun elevation's manouverability". Small, yet very smart things that are mindblowing. This game has an immense potential.

When I get the chance I’m getting this game. For a long time I’ve been looking for a game like this and I’m extremely happy
Can’t wait for you to make an hstv-l in Sprocket!
"if you've been living under a rock and dont know what sprocket is" nobody knows what the hell sprocket is
This game is Warship Gunner 2 or Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts for tanks
Also naval art for tanks
I would like the feature of sharing designs and seeing which one would be the best. Like a contest between light, medium and heavy tanks individually to see which tank in that class is the best.
What is Sprocket you ask Spookston? The coolest game ever.
I made a super beefy brawler. 152mm medium sized gun, but max armor on front and sides. It's a latewar tank, so its capped at 100 tons for scenarios, and it reaches 98 tons. Somehow though, it's still capable of getting to 20mph, with a max of 22.
Having a lot of fun with this game!
This game has an immense potential.
everyone should join the official discord , where the dev is active in daily and where most discussion is held
This new War Thunder update has really improved the game
Oh lord, the man himself has found the game to fix tanks. We are not prepared for this raw power.
I absolutely love this game
