  • I show you how I installed my new suction control valve on my Toyota D4D engine (1KD-FTV).
Keep in mind I did this on my 120 Prado, it might look a little bit different depending on your model of car,
I am not a mechanic! So please use common sense, and watch a few videos when figuring out how to do this installation. This video isn't the bible, it's just a guide to show you what I did.
Think of this video as the "idiot's guide for installing a SCV"...
I recommend watching Anthony for more in-depth information. Here is a link to his channel.

Anyways, let's get into it. I recommend you skip ahead to watch the relevant parts for you. Here are the time stamps.
    00:00 D4D SCV Installation
    00:14 Assembling SCV
    01:32 Removing Old SCV
    03:52 Installing New SCV
Now I don't talk about what a SCV actually does, but I recommend reading / watching about it. Because it's invaluable to know.
Thanks for watching guys. If you want to support, feel free to check out the new website.

Hey Luke, thank you for this very informative video.
I have a 2004 LC120, 3.0 D4D, 1KDTV - Auto and I need to replace my SCV as I got an error about turbo, however I also got an advice that it might be my SCV as its error code doesn't show usually.
I needed to purchase one, do you think I will have to find my fuel pump serial number or can just rely on the vehicle specs? Big thanks and keep it up, your videos are awesome and very informative :)

I think you can probably rely on your specs :)

Nice vid! Plan on changing my scv's, next year. But, how did you find correct part? My prado (kdj95L, 2000) has two scv's. But, I'm unable to find oem numbers of the scv's. I have found part number of replacement, denso dcrs210120 - but I'm totally unable to find any kits that say they'll fit for my j95. Btw, I will only use denso, so I'm just trying to find new valves with adapers/kit.

Thanks for the this, what caused you to change it out? My hilux on a cold start stalls, but after I give it some revs it's fine and doesn't stall, due you think this might be the cause? I went on the other site you mentioned, same questions but he didn't answer them, thanks

Hey mate, my engine was running rough in the cold, that was what gave it away for me.

Will it consume more fuel compared to small scv?

Bill you are spot on… there is a very big trip planned in the near future. It won’t be in SA, we are heading to the NT later in the year 😁
