I have been a Carhartt K87 fan for years. I wear these tee shirts until the neck frays and then they become excellent rags. I will have to give the Force Flex a try.
i know this video is 2 years old but man you are such a good simple yet in depth reviewer its so nice to watch your videos and hear the truth about products out there, thank you!!!!
I literally just ordered a force flex T from Carhartt like two weeks ago and was excited to see they had something more geared for hot weather i.e. sweat wicking with a chest pocket that actually fits well. Thanks for the review, solidified my choice for the force flex line. Also note the force flex polos seem really awesome as well and I picked up one of those as well and they are great.
Trouble I have with the force ones is that they're fitted slimmer and they don't taper as much as the original fit. The original size large fits me perfectly, but the force large is too tight in the shoulders and the force xl is too loose in the midsection. To be fair my shoulders are way wider than the average dude, so short fits are weird for me
I've worn the force shirts for a few years and love them. I work in a machine shop, so plenty of oils and metal chips. I have a few shirts with stains, but not a hole in any of them. Oh, and I totally agree with the pockets on a shirt.
I prefer the Duluth long tail tees. They have the same fit as K87 except for one difference, the extra length of the Duluths are on all sizes, particularly S and M. I like the K87 but I have a tall and slender frame. A large tall in Carhartt is very baggy on me but a medium regular is on the short side. Something else to consider for anyone wanting to try a new shirt out.
Carl, Thanks for all your reviews I find them so helpful in making clothing selections. I am beginning to develope a better style thanks to your advice. I'm impatient, I want all new clothes today and good stuff cost good money. Whats the story with Orvis clothing? Can you give a review. Thanks
@@CarlMurawski Totally agree. Been eyeing their clothing for a while because the quality is investment worthy. Like some of the best rugged style clothing brands (L.L Bean, Filson, Pendleton etc) Orvis has its roots in apparel for the outdoors so the quality is top notch and built to last. Lecture over, would love to see a video on it!
Thank you ,i been wanting to try the force flex, now i got the info ,especially for the summer,i work outside few days every other week then the rest indoors. ,thx bro !
Hey Carl, I found your channel a few months back, been enjoying your videos. I am an Electrican and I mostly work in the south. I travel all over and do mostly industrial type work. The two biggest bands of clothing that I see on the jobs are Carhartt and Ariat. I use to wear mostly carhartt but I keep buying more and more Ariat. You should try them out they are very comfortable and tough and keep up all the good work. I like your style.
Im an aussie. So i cant try them on. Got a few k87s... i go a medium. All my jackets are large. Im a stocky guy. But you feel I should go to a large in the FORCE t shirts? Thanks
Annoyingly, the neck line on the Force Flex is higher and more restrictive than the K87. It just sits weirdly. But only on the short sleeve versions, the LS versions are fine. It’s weird and annoying - not sure whether I got a bad batch, but I will be back the K87 for my next lot of tees I buy
I will buy a couple of force flex shirt because my regular carhartt shirts are too thick & heavy for the heat. All my carhartt shirts don't have holes unlike my duckies shirts which do.
The ling sleeve k87 is good as well. The short sleeve is great, each color is made in a different country last I checked. Literally, red in one country, green in another lol. Not sure why. Great shirts though. Thick too. Will try the new ones out soon, trying to decide if I want thorogood moc toes in 8" or maybe go full bore for Nick's or whites bounty hunters .
I wish the fit was exactly the same the force fit it just a little off to me. I know it’s a more athletic fit but that k87 fit can’t be beat! I still will give it a try though lol
I hate thick t-shirts and is why i never liked the heavy weigth k87 or duluth ones because in So Cal, it's just to hot.. Gotta pick up a force flex one now to try..
Well they’re contracted through Carhartt and really aimed at the Japanese and European market. So if you want a slimmer cut with some unique designs with a significant upcharge, go for it!
hey bro, how about a work tshirt that Doesnt Hang Down To My Knees? (& just fyi, i would rather get in the ring with tyson with a pork chop tied to my ear than to tuck a shirt in, so the "extra" length these companies add to make these already long shirts longer is the bane of my existence) i wear the traditional dickeys short sleeve button up mechanic style work shirt daily, untucked... in fact, i have all my dickeys work shirts altered & hemmed up & raised about 2 inches at the bottom... so finding a work tshirt that i can wear underneath it (in the interest of layering to either stay warmer or to be able to take one off & get cooler during the work day) without hanging out from under it like a skirt has always been a chore... so are any of carharts (or anybody elses u know of?) tshirts made shorter? ...i see guys wearing alot of these long tshirts untucked & they look like theyre wearing a dress... anyways, i do want to say im a new subscriber & im enjoying ur videos dude, so thank u!
The hem is always a point of contention. I know they make them longer to allow more coverage, but not everyone likes that. I’ve found the 1620 Workwear tee is pretty good with that, but the worst offender is Ariat. Damn, if I put a belt around the middle it becomes a dress. ….not that I do that. 😂
I bought 4 force flex shirts and they got sun bleached on the shoulders and Chest area just what my safety vest covers stayed it’s original color I wasn’t too pleased with them
What a bout the sizing, since a few years there is no consistency in Carharrt and dickies as well, they produce in different countries and a M in one country is big and in another its small depending on the coulour too, have you got any tips on how to choose dependng on the colour cause right now its a real nightmare
Will the force flex still still the same on the stomach? As a larger guy the regular fits nice and it's not really hugging the stomach. As a warm sweaty guy I would like a shirt that is cooler!
I was thinking the same thing because the regular shirts are to hot and I think I’m goi g to try one of the force ones do you think if I where a 2xtall regular shirt that you would get the same size in the force ?
Hey Carl, Ive wear the K87's have the durability mentioned, however they leave some to be desired for warm weather. The force flex looks nice, but how do they fit size wise compared to the K87. The K87 fits large, Im a 2x tshirt now, but Im somehwere between the large and extra large for the k87. Would the 2xl force flex be better, or the 1x?
The force shifts are more fitted. They wear about a size smaller than the k87. The force M shirt fits me perfectly. The M k87 is baggy enough on me that I could go down to a size small.
Who knew that it is a K87? I buy the Carhartt's on sale. I guess electricians don't really get dirty. I know they don't clean up after themselves on the worksite, or when doing renovations.
Hey Carl, could you do a somthing on work underwear? I work outside in southern Alabama, and currently wear. the Duluth Armachillo bullpin corralling boxer briefs. I was wondering if you had any advice or opinions on the matter? Thanks, love your videos.
I really need help with sizing for the k87. Everything I wear is size large, including my carhartt sweatshirts that have a bit of room. I’m 5 10 200 pounds and keep seeing people say to size down to medium but others say large is good. I just don’t want to get them and have them be small but also don’t want a tent! I don’t mind a bit of room though. What do you recommend?
Need something not cotton... Fading and shrinking and not breathable relative to a synthetic. A performance wicking textures shirt with stretch seems better.
I think a lot of that depends on your application. I can't stand polyester and we cant even wear it around electricity due to arc flash hazards. In fact we cant even wear synthetics UNDER our FR gear!

I find the carhart regular pocket tee to be better in the summer sounds gross but the thicker tee holds sweat wich in the breeze will cool you
Please do a full review on the Dickies temp IQ t-shirts.
Those over the cars any day
I was literally binge watching your other videos when you uploaded this. Dammit!
Hahahahaha well thank you!!!

I also work in a machine shop and I use the pocket all the time even at home haha
Florida General Contractor and Force Flex rules in this heat.
No question the new tees look much better on you. I understand a working tee isn’t about looks but damn it’s not even close.
Right? I think these new ones are a slam dunk!
I prefer the Duluth long tail tees. They have the same fit as K87 except for one difference, the extra length of the Duluths are on all sizes, particularly S and M. First of all thanks man! Secondly I’d love to cover Orvis someday. I think there’s a lot to see with them, and it needs proper coverage.

I do satalite tv installs in east texas and I use the force shirts everyday. And I’ve found that I prefer Carhartt shirts but Duluth pants.
Sounds like I need these types of shirts in the shop with these summer days coming!! 👀
I got an extra large and it fit like a large so go up one size and not to mention the pocket on your shirt is smaller than the K 87

If you haven't seen it, Brian the Bootmaker just did a resole video on a pair of Nicks Boots. Definitely worth a watch.

I like the k87 & force tee shirt but the force extreme tee shirt I don't like because it's like the Under Armor.

Hi Carl 👋
Hi! Thanks for stopping by to watch my video. I hope your weekend is kickass!!!
Thanks.
How is the stink-factor on these? Most shirts with synthetic materials smell terrible by the end of the day
“They just work” - A great way to summarize a solid product. Thanks Carl

Thats an Oris Aquis 43mm in green
@@CarlMurawski thank you much.
I appreciate it.
Keep up the good work.
Your videos are a blessing.
I own dozens of K87’s and find every different color has a unique fit although the same size. No quality control but I buy them anyway . 🤣🤣🤣
6 ft 220lbs, what size in the force flex would you recommend?
Great Video.

Definitely go with a medium. The large is HUGE!
May i ask How tall and heavy are you? and what is the right size for you for K87? i just wanna refer this info for my size .
I'm about 5'8" 180lbs and I usually wear a medium, but have a few large. Theyre way too big though.
what size do you where for the force shirt? im 5"6 170 pounds
Probably small, I'm 5'8 165 and small is perfect.
Looks good on you. Captain America physique
A random peck pop or two on the turnarounds. That would of been gold!!!
