No translation needed for this reaction. 58 yr old guy here and not ashamed to admit I have the same reaction as soon as IZ starts singing. He touches the soul.
For me, the tears start as soon as his voice does. I resisted listening to IZ's version for YEARS because I know the Judy Garland version and I'll admit, I'm a bit of a purist when it comes do music. I don't normally like covers but so many of my favorite reactors had this song on their channels so I gave in and gave it a chance.... and I'm SO glad I did. I could listen to it several times a day for the rest of my life. I don't know what it is about his voice... it's ethereal... otherworldly... hauntingly beautiful.... perfect.
Too many covers sound overproduced to me. I love his above everyone else’s due to its simplicity and that makes it all the more intimate and comforting.
@@sonofmossthe story of this recording is epic. It was really late. He had this idea. They called the studio. Owner was like, it;s late…no. Iz took the phone and explained he needed to get this out. A few hours later and history.
On the day of the funeral when they poured his ashes into the water, all of the semi trucks on the island drove by and blew their horns. It sounded as though the island was wailing in despair for the lost of IZ
God made him so beautiful that only his voice could be perceived by regular people! I don't think I can explain it except for the fact that his soul has been touching so many people from before and since he died oh God I wish he was still here!
Part of the documentary shows IZ’ ashes being spread into the waters of the Pacific Ocean. A tradition in the Hawaiian culture, demonstrating Aloha for him and family.
Several years ago a good friend of mine who was an Islander turned me on to IZ and he would never talk about his music only tell me what a beautiful human being that he was.
I love his voice and the adorable way he says chimney. Incredible talent so of course he got godly treatment. 🙌🫶🤩 Wish he was still with us to sing more beautiful songs😢❤
We are all blessed to be in this beautiful world that God has given us which is called life. But apart of me is missing my twin that I never met. But I know he's my guardian Angel. I miss my grandmother. This song is heartbreaking 💔😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏 ❤️❤️❤️ Roel Campos
Pazzesco a pensarci
Me gsuta qe la gente exprese lo qe siente buena relación esta cancion me demostró 1 ves más qe los hwallanos son gente con un corazón y espíritu muí bonito los amo a todos energi
Kamakawiwo'ole (kah mah kah vivo olay) the canoe that his ashes were poured from is the famous Hokulea (hoh koo lay uh) which has sailed all over the world.
If you haven’t seen Iam Tongi, also a very large young Hawaiian and American Idol winner, do this song you should check it out. He’s the closest thing to Iz reincarnated that you will ever see.
Had to stop the video to say that it really hitted hard to hear you say that he isn't with us "physically" ...I really liked that you were specific with that part and didn't know that I would react to that.
There aren't a lot of genuine songs/performances about Earth. Extraterrestrials should listen to this one and maybe then realize us humans aren't that bad after all.
@@wehilanimuller6417 And if you buy that ' ol' stand-by' - "I have a glandular condition", then do continue to willfully live in a state of ignorant bliss. We _all_ have and recognize certain genetic predispositions that is why it is incumbent upon us to deal with them properly. Yes, some 'conditions' are more pronounced than others but it was the big man's own lack of discipline, self-control and his gluttony(perhaps, *fed* -no pun intended - or fueled *by* unresolved emotional "issues") So what?! Everyone has problems , ultimately it comes down to a willingness to accept *personal* responsibility for one's own behavior regardless of whatever causes or forces may or may not be to "blame". In plain terms, no one and I mean , *no one* gets to be this size solely due to their "metabolism". He was a hog and if he truly desired to continue living it was necessary to rein himself in. He refused to do so. Show me one human being on the shelf at Auschwitz or Dachau etc. in his 'condition' at the time of their 'release'. It's called living in moderation.
@@manofiske3318 you're still judging...he also suffered from an endocrinological problem as well. He was under a doctor's care. He wanted to live...for himself and for his daughter. You have a blatant prejudice against people of this size. Granted many do eat themselves to that size but there are many with valid medical conditions like Iz...If you only see (or focus on his weight) it's sad because you are truly missing this man's angelic voice, his beautiful soul, and how he touched millions of people around the world.
No matter the age, If you can truly love music and pure talent its easy to get emotional about this. Last time I cried I was 10, now I'm 23 and Its been hard asf In this life. Sometimes I wish I can cry something out but emotions are locked for me, so people should cherish their emotions and don't be shy to cry cuz remember YOU ARE HUMAN not a fucking robot.

It is one of the most beautiful renditions. He made it his. He made it Hawaii. It is so uplifting. We can fly over the rainbow.

I was crying right along with my friends. Your reaction was very heartfelt. You are two beautiful souls. Thank you..
IZ is a legend. Beautiful! Thank you for reacting to IZ and loved your genuine reaction.
God gifted IZ with the voice of an angel . It was a gift for all who hear it .
Shone twice as bright for half as long.
You know the best part of watching these videos, is seeing the impact he makes on you, like he did to us Hawaiians! Much Love and Aloha!!! ❤❤❤

I think the truck horns sounded like the old conch shells blown as horns.
I really love you both for your honest reactions, thank you for sharing with us.

Non avevo mai visto un video reaction così sincero da un italiano, molto apprezzato

I have watched this dozens and dozens of times and I have cried EVERY SINGLE TIME. Beautiful song!
When I found his music........I had the very same reaction, it's just so beautiful
I've heard this song 100 times.
I cry every time.
Man, I have never met the man, and I’m just learning about him but for some reason this is making me very emotional
The most beautiful funeral service ever. RIP IZ
Such a gentle soul with a beautiful Angelica voice.

Aloha!
Real men cry.
Heard he called in at a radio station at like 2 am and asked if they could maybe play this? Not sure if that's true or not
The story is in his Wiki page.
💯💛
It's not the subtitles, but I understand what you're audio saying? Sounds Spanish...makes me happy!
I think they're speaking Italian.

Iz is a hawain singer not american
Hawaii has been part of The United States since 1959, making everyone who was already there and everyone born there since…..American!!!

Dude refused to stop stuffing his face; ate himself into an early, albeit watery, grave
not true...he suffered from a metabolic condition. His brother suffered from the same condition. don't be so quick to judge...
