As far as I'm aware extreme speed doesnt actually have any priority over quick attack. Both should be +1 in priority. Just means your raticate was slower than the arcanine which is in fact the fattest of rips. Technically the right play if raticate was probably around equal level he probably would have gotten you that kill. I do the same mistake though. Go in under leveled thinking I'll be fine then quickly find out that no it was in fact not fine.
You actually made me take a gander as I'm trying to learn more. Turns out Extreme Speed has +2 priority and Quick Attack has +1 priority, so speed does not matter here (based on what I'm seeing here: pokemon.fandom.com/wiki/Priority ). For this fight, we were overleveled for all the trainers leading up to Blaine (Fire Red: Team Rocket edition), so we thought we were gonna be fine 🤣

Could have just killed with aerial ace on fearow but it is what it is
instead of using type advantage my man still won with clutch
I TOTALLY whiffed on a couple better options. I know Kenny could’ve killed had I not used fly. But, the mistakes lead to craziness!

Yeah. It was just the Arcanine that was left. His whole team was MUCH higher level than anything else in the area.

Why so under leveled?
Wasn’t intentional. All the other nearby trainer’s Pokémon were about lvl 28. Took out his other 3 with only my Poliwrath going down. Then Arcanine came in, lol.

@@islarf5095 Ah! I was facing him in Fire Red: Team Rocket Edition. He was about 8 or so levels above every trainer there, and we also didn't know we were going into a fight with him as it was in the basement of the mansion 😅
