That beer slide isnt even 1/10th as impressive as the strumming he does afterwards or the solo he lays down after that. But ppl are suckers for gimmicks. As a fellow guitarist i have no prob giving others roses when they deserve them. And this dudes bad ass
i gotta disagree with a regular slide maybe but with the beer bottle the control and dynamics are so much different as a fellow guitarist I can tell it was the most difficult part for him to perform because its the only part you see him that hes that focused like the pentatonic solo in a single position is so much easier in comparison
That’s true because he was pulling the slide/bottle up and down as he was sliding down the fretboard. I don’t think I’ve seen it don’t that way before at least not by my rock heros But just like @tatevanclave1802 says, that picking pattern using both the pick and his fingers is bad ass and technical I tip my hat to this man he’s got it! 🤘🏽🫡🇺🇸

He sounded amazing, but if he wasn't singing r&b he couldn't slide without it sounding weird and he couldn't sing it well. He required more work than anyone else despite sounding amazing out the gate. The same thing applies when I play with a slide on the guitar. It's easier to recover from the wrong note when you can slide to the correct one without anything to worry about. It sounds intentional to the untrained ear especially with the blues. That and I personally just have never struggled using different types of slides or even random objects. Also, we don't see him focusing because he's chugging the beer in the middle of that solo, but he's laser focused by the sounds of the guitar. That wrist action really got me. Distortion, bending the strings and playing fast can be a similar crutch. He did well with the slide, but the solo is harder to play imo
