I've been looking forward to this doll since I love the Made To Move line. I've noticed that a lot of the recent Barbie dolls look better in the pictures than in real life. I just got fashionista #43 "Lacey Blue", and while she is pretty, she looks a lot different than her pictures to me. I'm still crossing my fingers for a Made To Move Ken, haha. Great review!

I do wish for a mtm ken too but with a rooted hair. not with the molded one mattel has been manufacturing recently. ugh!

Oh wow!! I'm so excited! Second wave dolls! I'm so excited!! LOL I love the coloring of the orange top and HAVE to get her as well as the red head. I didn't even know there was a second wave out. Broken BarbieTV Just got my orange top today and I'm thrilled! So very pretty and I love her skin tone! Fortunately my dolls eyes don't look as wonky. :) I've ordered the red head (I noticed she had freckles and I love freckles) which I should be getting on Tuesday or Wednesday. :)

I don't really like the overall look of this orange top made to move doll but I'll get a couple of them for head swapping. I hope Mattel will release a dark skin made to move that would match to the curly haired slanted body fashionista with the yellow flower dress since I really love the dolls face but she def needs a new body!

Eh, it's the first time I don't really like the face up of a Made to Move doll. You're right, the complexion, hair, and face mold just don't add up together very well. Luckily there's already lots of unique and more natural looking doll heads with this skin tone. I'm gonna go hunting for her and a head to replace hers with as soon as she's become more common in stores.
i know i'm gonna go crazy when i see her in stores. i am gonna have so many extra heads in my house. oh boy.

I actually really like the doll as it is, at first I didn't when I saw the promo pictures but after seeing so many people post on Instagram I kinda really like her look and how different she is from all the other dolls. I'm definitely looking forward to getting two and use the second one for the ice cream romper with the pink streak in her hair. Really excited. I just hope it won't happen like it happen with yellow top where most people had to hunt them down.
oh yeah, my ice cream romper would so love this body. still haven't decided who to keep on these two permanently. i plan to add more eventually. I am excited to see them in stores, hopefully soon. i hope it's not a hot mess like with yellow top, too. haha.

Have you seen the 17" Endless Hair Kingdom Barbies? Very well put together dolls. I still prefer the articulation on both the Made To Move dolls and 17" Monster High dolls. I did pick up an DC Super Hero Girl doll of Wonder Woman. She has very good joints and nice smile. Bumble Bee looks nice too.
I relate to OrangeTop's facial expression - that is me without coffee in the morning. lol! I love the redhead but orange top's complexion is actually really versatile and that rocks. I think she'd look a lot more natural if they didn't go with bottle platinum as a hair choice. More like Jessica Alba honey blonde would have looked great

I am absolutely in love with Orange Top's skin tone becuz so many dolls with the Black features lately are produced in this tone. and i agree, they could have made her hair a little less tacky, with the color choice. IDK who designs the MTM dolls, but it makes me wonder about the communication over at Mattel sometimes. lol
I'm happy the orange top is hitting the shelves , I want to rebody my Mattel Beyonce . I also agree about the ankles I usually put boots on em.
i know, seriously, they need to do something about them ankles. maybe there is a modification we can try to make it more sturdy? i'll have to get creative and try to think of something.
@@BrokenDollyTV They should've made their ankle joints into click-stops with more resistance, perhaps? As they are, they'd make perfect Olympic ski jumpers; but that's not for another three years yet, lol. Shame on Mattel for letting that issue go for this long!

Problem is, that's part of the "plus" of having articulated ankles in the first place; i.e., being able to choose among so many different styles of both flats and heels. If all the dolls can wear is boots and heels with high and/or wide ankle straps, it defeats the purpose.

Her eyes are king of pointing in two different directions which I have seen from the pictures because she hasn't arrived here yet but I was expecting better hair !! It is a thing that all the made to move dolls don't have much hair on their skull and that's kind of annoying but I believe that they are a revolution to the articulation which existed in the past and I'm definitely getting her when she comes on shelves
surprisingly, this doll's hair was quite thick. however, i noticed it doesn't look exactly the way it is in the pics. still, the eyes looking in different directions really disappointed me. i think she would be fun to repaint though.

I love those 2 new MTM dolls. I think it will be better if the redhead is Midge and the dark skin with Lea head mold should have black or brown hair to make them very different. The second wave should also include Ken,tan skin of Teresa and a very dark skin black Barbie or just put them in MTM wave 3. If Mattel is planning to make wave 3.

Hey Gypsie, love your video as always! FYI I put some boots on one of my MTM dolls n pulling them off her foot came off! It's a peg foot easy to remove with pliers. So since we don't like the ankles any other barbies has legs like this in we can swap with?! Hugs Debs from Texas.
hmmmm, i always wondered about that. the only issue for me is that all my dolls with moving ankles are also barbies, and they do not do a great job on those ankles, no matter which line it is. The only doll i have that has nice sturdy ankles, which also move, is my Poppy Parker (Integrity Toys) doll.

Meh.. I dunno about her. Her eyes are kinda derpy looking, the blonde hair doesn't work AT ALL with the skin tone.I like the styling of it though.. I'll give her that. I'm definetely more impressed with the redhead one. This one is really disappointing. Guess she'll do great to rebody other dolls. ;)

I wish I could get all the MTM dolls. I do like Yellow Top's face but Orange Top just looks... plain. I'd need another face to have her the way I want. Plus I also am lacking Purple Top and Pastel Blue Top besides Yellow and Orange. I have a lot of catching up to do.

These dolls cost about 35$ in my country, so buying them for rebodying purposes is out of question, but I do like the blonde doll as is. I'd put her hair in two buns.

I know! I'm from Moldova, it's in Eastern Europe. Doll prices in Europe are 2x-3x the USA price. I recently bought the collector Draculaura for about 70$ and did a happy dance because she was like 30% off :) I often ask my friends to bring me dolls when they go to the USA but nobody was willing to bring Draculaura because she would have taken up half of their luggage.
WOAH! Maldova? That sounds pretty. I have never heard of it. Now i am curious and i will have to look up more info on your country. it is a shame that nice dolls are not easier to acquire in other countries. I wish everyone had access to these kinds of dolls for affordable prices.

I believe MATTEL didn't put that much effort into these because they knew ppl was go donate the bodies to other dolls anyway

TevinGMedia - What it probably is, they make more money selling two dolls instead of just one. Therefore they match up the more versatile, posable bodies with plain faces and put the detailed, more unique faces on stiff dolls with only five points of extremely limited articulation.
Once I received a mail-order MtM from Amazon with a broken neck peg--likely from a returned sale where the re-body attempt had gone wrong, I'm guessing. Since we didn't have a printer (for the return label they were going to email), and it was nearly thirty miles to the nearest authorized UPS store (plus my car was broke down at the time), we wound up stuck with the loss.

@@BrokenDollyTV I got two of the purple top after I spotted her in a local store (probably not far from where you are, actually!) a couple years ago, not long after she first came out; and I'm so glad I did. Now (like the orange top) she tends to be rare and/or somewhat on the pricey side. I haven't decided how to rebody her (or at least one of them); or if her particular skin tone lends itself very well to that. I do wish they'd designed the multicolored tops on these dolls to unfasten at least partway in back; so that they wouldn't be so difficult to remove and put back on.
would you put the made to move barbies bodies in water or pool water
i do not see why they can't go in water. There is no metal on the doll that would rust. it is all plastic. they should be fine in the pool or water. just don't do it if your doll has a custom repaint head. but factory paint should be fine.

I had some skateboard accessories from an earlier LIV doll; plus they sold mini-skateboards (with removeable wheel sets and everything-I'd gotten several) at the dollar store. So I couldn't see paying what Amazon and some other stores were asking for this one.
I love the new mtm wave. I actually liked this doll the least when I saw the promo pics,but now she's my favorite. Although...I do agree, her face is somewhat plain. it's not that there is no "make up", but something on her face is off. :/ But I'm probably getting her anyways xD Also, do you know which mtm doll had the closest skin tone to the barbie Midge? I've been wanted to rebody her but it's hard to find a match
Hi, sadly, none of them are close to Midge. You can "try" Pink Top but it's still gonna be different cuz Midge is not the same skin tone as a regular Barbie.

i have heard rumors that she is the same complexion as pink top or regular barbie. i will have to wait and see her in person when she hits the shelves in stores to verify if that is true.

I haven't seen very good pictures until just recently, and even though I'm glad they have a redhead and this skin color, I have to set I don't like the blond hair with orange.

haha, yeah, i heard the red head is actually the same complexion and pink top barbie... so that's kind of a waste. the fun in MTM's is that they have unique skin tones so we can rebody all our other dolls! HELLO, MATTEL, WHAT ARE Y'ALL DOING? anyway, at least i don't feel as guilty as i did with yellow top for removing Orange Top's head and rebodying her. haha.

sounds like a plan! perfect match. you can also use the skateboarder mtm doll and the soccer player doll. they have the same body and complexion as orange top and might be easier to find.
