The song of horror to my childhood
When I was about to face him in the game I was like "I wonder what ship he'll use" But then I saw a giant floating ape head with giant hands and a hellish background and freaked out so much I paused the game and went to the next room.

I freaked out even more when I saw his robot form

The robot's more creepy than the brain. And a lot easier. If he doesn't chew up your wings in the first phase, he dies really quick.

I was so scared of this boss as a kid that when I got close to venom I would just reset the game

Yeah. Most people post the cymbal heavy version for Fake Andross on easy mode.

@@corjonbett probably because they were confused about it.

I'm guessing the way it works is that both versions are just the same song in the cartridge, but they just turn off the cymbals layer for the first phase. But when you extract it from the game you get the full thing

From one of the greatest minds in Corneria, wanting to do good, to a mad scientist wanting to rule Lylat and becoming the #1 enemy of his homeworld...

OK, I'll admit something. When I got to this segment as a kid, this actually freaked me out. I could feel my hands shaking when I was fighting Andross on the Expert route. I dunno how the heck I even beat this game during my childhood, but THIS goddamn head gave me bad nightmares.
After playing through this game again so many years later, this still makes me a little paranoid. At least I was less scared of this than the robot replica. THAT just made me jump so hard.

Andross might be a good adversary for Mojo Jojo in order to observe who is the most intelligent ape of the universe.

On paper this boss should be ridiculous and while it is a lot less threatening when you realize he's a pushover, he and this theme are pure nightmare fuel.

He would have been actually fun if his hands just had a bit more health at the very least

    Now it's back.
    Who knows.
I wonder Andross turned into fake one, a robot 🤖.

Nintendo's villain themes are always horrifying and I love it

Andross is more powerful and less redundant in terms of speaking.
