Gotta respect Andross for complementing you no matter what route you take in the game. Regardless of whether you play it safe or go hardcore, Andross acknowledges you have some serious skill to come this far in one way or another.
if you hit brakes repeatedly, especially while the cube is floating... you can eventually go out of range and you have no choice but to lose. similarly.... if you hit boosters repeatedly... you can get so close, you end up INSIDE the mask, and die instantly. kinda an odd glitch thing.
There is a pushbox to put you back, but it's tiny. most of the time the pushbox does not push you back into the battle so you can kinda get past his mask if you tried hard enough..
From 0:00 to 0:35 it gives the same feeling when approaching a boss. But at 0:41, it's like the game is saying, "This is it Fox! Defeat Andross and save Corneria!"
I vividly remember the first time I encountered Andross and heard this tune and I was all like "Hey what's thOH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT OMG LOOK AT ALL THAT STUFF IT'S GONNA HIT ME AHHHHH!!!" I was completely losing it and scared out of my mind.

Given what Andross had become and how he'd ditched his mortal body to be a cube surrounded by a telekinetic mask, he was indeed nightmarish like he saw himself as a God of some kind.
