  • To eliminate potential falling risks when reaching the top -- and still unsecured -- level from the ladder access, Layher has developed the Advance Guardrail System (AGS) -- the assembly safety rail.
The Layher AGS consists of two assembly uprights and a telescoping assembly guardrail. It is assembled from the secured access bay underneath it. Access to the top level is through the hatch opening of the topmost scaffolding deck provided in the access bay. Then the two first frames and also the guard rail and intermediate rail must be assembled in the access bay temporarily secured by the AGS. The further frames are assembled in accordance with the old assembly variant 2. It is of course also possible to use the AGS also in several adjacent scaffolding bays as temporary side protection -- both in Layher SpeedyScaf and Allround equipment and in other scaffolding systems.
This Layher recommendation is one among many for ensuring safety during access and assembly work at the top and unsecured level.
