Man. Idk if you’ll see this or not. But. This is video 332. I’ve listened to all of your 332 uploads for the scp universe. Thank you. Just thank you. You’ve given me sooo many hours of enjoyment. And I can’t express how much I appreciate that. It took me almost a year to listen to everything you’ve uploaded from beginning to this one. You’re truly amazing. 😊
It's not often that I listen to a story that makes my skin crawl, but hearing the descriptions of the dusted D-class is literally making my toes and fingers tingly. Maybe I'm turning into dust...
Seeing as this is a rewrite, I naturally had to check out the original with the wayback machine. The rewrite has quite a bit of similarities with the original (not surprising), but said original feels more surreal. Here are some differences: • It was a single storm that, much like Daleport, left the towns it altered permanently anomalous. • Humans caught in the storm either got transfigured to look like domestic animals or be completely composed of dust. Additionally, the limbs of missing residents presumably killed by the storm have been found fused to local wildlife and fauna. •No one can eat or drink, but still feel hungry and thirsty. Any food or drink brought into the affected areas become coated in dust and become dry to human touch. Lack of contact for 3 hours will cause locust to grow from the food, who will consume the food before attempting to consume the people and structures of the town til killed. There are some other things for anyone interested in seeing what the original was like.
@@cjthebeesknees the old author quit writing SCP and want all of her SCP deleted. Some do get deleted and replaced completely but others are rewritten, like this one
I really like this one. Very weird, very eerie, a few hints of otherworldliness without going full multiverse/pataphysical bs, and grounded enough without being obvious commentary.
I really enjoyed it too. Personally, I quite enjoy the pataphysics stuff. But it's nice to go on a really surreal ride like this too. I think they even did a good job at hinting at a larger narrative while not actually destroying the mystery of this story. Not sure I should've listened to it right before sleep though. Some of that imagery may cause some weird dreams.
A friend and I were talking recently about the horror potential of the dust bowl, and wondered why it wasn't used more often. Glad to find out someone had an interesting idea for the setting, and came up with something even more horrifying than the ideas we thought up!
Wendigoon once joked “where is your god now?” About the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park mythology. Honestly, this SCP feels more…that….then the Flesh Pit
Mystery Flesh Pit National Park is a story about the hubris of man and the hubris of capitalists first and foremost. A "fuck around, find out" situation. The people caught in 1929 have done no fucking around, they just find out out of nowhere.
Genesis 3:19 "By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”
So many of my favourite videos are by you. Ive commented before that your narration is absolutely top notch, and i still think it three years later. Its not just your voice and tone and pacing etc, its also that this is all your own take on things; the little asides in the middle of an intro or on the way out of a segment; that youre still clearly passionate about it all. All adds up to a great experience whether falling asleep or just the perfect audio entertainment whilst working. Keep up the great work, youre massively appreciated
I found this SCP particularly creepy, perhaps due to the deliberate lack of background. Its going to be one of those one's that linger and gives me nightmares
This rewrite was amazing. The non~emotional style of this SCP report just seems to make it so much worse, considering both the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl disasters/ storms were real.
It's interesting to me that some of the most disturbing concepts in the SCP universe are based on death no longer deathing. Ask a random person what they think the end of death would be like and most of em would say positive things.
I wonder if TES feels limited by how his SCP stuff typically gets the most views. I love his SCP stuff but I always feel bad imagining content creators might be adhering to what people want rather than doing the diverse topics they’re interested in personally
@@magnolia1253 it’s a shame too because I’m super into both warhammer and SCP, so I’d personally really like it if he did a 50/50 of both for the most part.

Never forget the dust bowl was caused by the intentional destruction of native grasslands. We have to protect grasslands and the animals that live in their ecosystems as much as we protect rainforests
That bit about ppl remaining conscious despite being fully disintegrated reminded me of that “What happens after death” SCP. Maybe there’s another connection here, in which ppl’s conceptual integrity(?) (ie “what makes you aware that you’re you”) remains despite the rest of your physical self falling apart.
theres some hidden text before the last image: "Flood, sister of beginnings Drought, sister of endings The effigy of my enemy is my enemy And you are far from blameless What you gave to the land Will be repaid in kind When you are no longer deaf to yourself You will know what sleeplessness means"
