If anyone is having trouble with the beginning part of the green gem where you have to do that crazy slide-jump-slide-jump. Screw that, you can literally just crouch and crawl to the edge, then stand up and slide jump over to the other side. That was the hardest part for me.
If you time it just right, you can just go straight from a slide under the electric bars, straight into a double jump to the other side. If timed right, your slide under will put you directly on the edge and give you just enough to make it to the other side. That’s how I did it.
Almost every bit of this gauntlet I can get done without getting hurt but that really fast bouncing crate near the end always hurts me at least once and usually twice that box is the most unfair thing with this level
Enter without breaking the box by using the Fire plataform in the cog. To get out break the box, wait until it explodes and instantly jump with a short jump. (You can also use aku aku)
After 4 days and spending a total of 7 hours trying this. I haven't even gotten past the part where you have to jump off the electrified swinging pole to trigger the TNT yet. This one is a serious pain. Coming from someone who's gotten every gem on Cortex Castle, and platinum on all 21 of the flashback tapes. This is easily the most grueling thing in this game hands down. I'm glad there is a coloured gem gauntlet like in Crash 3 but they took it wayyyy too far with this. It almost feels like, hey here's your reward for collecting all of these things, something 1000 times more tedious and frustrating than getting them in the first place. And I reckon I would have finished it hours ago if they just had a God damn checkpoint with each gem you take holy fucking shit. Dying 10 times on this thing feels like dying over 100 times on nearly any other part of the game, with how much you've got to go through again and again and again with each failure. I may not have all the perfect and Platinum relics and all the gems in the game. But at least I've actually conquered all the content the game has to offer in one way or another. And why this needs to be collectively harder, more time consuming, more frustrating, more tedious, and more incessantly drawn out, is absolutely beyond me. Fuck this part of the game, and fuck whoever's idea it was to implement it. And then especially fuck whoever decided perfect relics needed to exist and didn't change their mind after they created this monstrosity.
GOLDEN TIP: Don't break that crate at 3:30 until you're on the other side, that way you just need to worry about crossing the crazy bouncing metal crate once. Although the level designers tricked you to believe you have to blow up the TNT crates right away, you can actually make it to the other side first, through the top with the help on the moving platform.
Everything I see from this game is awesome. I actually picked it up yesterday and played 4-5 levels. The problem is I finally platinumed 1,2 & 3 back to back with 1 week to go for crash 4 and now I’m burnt out on crash lmfao so I picked up Mafia now. Hopefully I will get back on crash after that
Well you was right, this crash is 5x harder than the trilogy so i hope you get back on crash 4 and 106% it ! Just my life so if you dont care dont read it no problem ;) I'm trying but its so hard. I always were a casual crash fan, doing the game itself was hard enough for me (wich i regret since i cant play crash woc, twinsanity and crash titans anymore ;( ) I played crash nsane trilogy were it camed out struggled as always but did well for my standarts, flashback to few mounths before i redid the trilogy and i was amases of how good i had become (for my standarts again) i did crash 1 almost deathless 100% crash 2 and 106% crash 3 (and plat it). I didnt get the plat because i couldnt have the gold relics for crash 2 ( i plan to go back to it and try to plat crash 1 aswell). So with crash 4 i did well BUT the insane perfect relics, plat time trial and dev time trial , all gems and more it feels so impossible for me :( well i'm at 81% for now. Sorry for this message i just needed to let my frustration off
Nikeon Oui Yeah, I 100% believe you bro. I still didn’t go back to Crash 4 for now but from everything I saw so far, this will be without a doubt the hardest Crash platinum ever. I actually stopped playing Mafia after a couple of Missions as well. Seems like I’m not only a little bit burnt out on crash but just in general with gaming. With the Pandemic going on, I had a lot of time playing games this year and I think I took a little bit too much advantage of that. But for sure I’m gonna go back sooner or later. When it comes to the Insane Trilogy Crash 2 was definitely the hardest for me, even tho I have to say it actually went really well for me overall. Every time I looked up a thread for the trilogy most people always said that crash 1 was the hardest but I already was able to tell by just playing trough each game that the second one will be the most tricky one for me. In Crash 1 youre really slow, so everything is a little bit more controllable. The third one was just easy & with the double jump you were able to save yourself a lot + It seemed like the time you had to beat in that game was really generous. In crash 2 tho sprinting and time trials felt kinda out of place. Idk. Maybe you know what I mean. 2 was definitely the trickiest one for me. But even tho it was frustrating at times, there was always the motivation to be better, to see your progress? That made it fun, right? 81% is already really good. Especially it seems like there’s so much to do. Maybe even a little bit to much? Overall I’m glad tho that this Crash is yet another challenging one because I do think Crash should be somewhat challenging. Definitely don’t give up, you will beat the things you need to do sooner or later. People will come up with strats, maybe even short cuts, time saving jumps and so on... it will be the hardest one for sure but getting the platinum on that one will be worth every frustration.
@@thetruthhurtshuh7470 yeah i agree 100% with you on crash 2, im happy with my % for now im just worried for the future ^^ but yeah the game might be too hard. Im waiting for good players to do it and leave their opinion. Also, thank you for your time ^^
2:37 Also, wait with the jumping till you hear Crash/Coco scraping on the walls. I know that's how you usually do it but you can commonly still save yourself if you do it too early. Not in this case from my experience, so just to be sure.
Pro tip: that bouncing metal crate bit before the blue gem? You only need to risk it once. There's enough clearance above the stack of crates to hop over it entirely and only activate the bouncing nonsense as you exit that little nook, meaning only one precision jump is required.
This guy doesn’t even mention that he died at least 10 times before reaching this point, in order to have the double mask. Originally, there aren’t any masks available before reaching the Gauntlet, and I’m certain of that, after all the trouble I went with getting that perfect relic. Without the invisibility, you need to time the jump on that one TNT crate perfectly, otherwise it’ll kill you or you’ll drown. The one and only mask you get inside the gauntlet needs to be saved to the bouncing metal crate near the end
True that lol also this part isnt excactly extreme difficult....the hard part is completing the entire level including the 4 gem door part an getting every without dying once! ...that's the real shitter
@@heydavid17 congratulations...I'm still trying ...but I'm trying to master each bit individually at the moment....sometimes I purposely die just so I can go back again an make sure that I've got it perfectly ...the bit at the very end of toxic tunnels is a bit of a bitch 😂
I think its harder than cortex castle in terms of not dying ....god knows about the time trials but that will be the next stage ....I reckon its doable though ...just needs dedication
@@ilck-ym-blals7385 I’d say you’re doing it right, I had to replay all the bits that I found difficult, until I found a solution myself. Cortex Castle is easily the more easy one of the last levels overall, that level traumatized me so much the first time, that it was impossible for me to forget about the level, but because of that, I remembered a lot easier how Cortex Castle was designed, so I had a much easier time getting the Perfect Relic there, I believe it took me 20 minutes, whereas compared to Toxic Tunnels, where I still didn’t have any proper memory of “the gauntlet”, then that’s what made me struggle myself way more. Same thing with the riding levels... those were by far tedious to do, but repeating the sections when riding the animals over and over, made me have more control whenever I was doing those sections, and thank God I’m over that! Happily done with all the Perfect Relics, never ever again!!! Hard to tell how it will go when it comes to the relics, at least you don’t need to do “the gauntlet” in Toxic Tunnels. I must say, everything really changes when doing the relics, since you go from careful and fully aware, to skipping everything and finding shortcuts wherever you can. I'd be fine with getting crushed by them but the BS part of the box mechanics is that hitting one from underneath also kills you, even if it's in the air.

This entire game is a f*cking death route...
This game caused me to rage quit several times. This game makes you feel like death once it's done
I somehow managed to spend over 60 lives on this gauntlet and managed to keep my cool. Only made it as far as the yellow gem.
Boggles my mind that there’s a whole second layer of difficulty on top of Toxic Tunnels which was already a truly despicable level.
