This pinball machine was so easy to play and beat back in the day. I liked when it hit the pop bumpers and it says ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow. This pinball machine was easy to get extra ball and special. On $.25 cents I be on this game all day. There be extra credits on the game and I use to sell them to make easy money 💵 The owner of this pinball machine used to call me to let me know when he’s coming down to collect the money, or have to fix the pinball machine. He was a cool guy, giving me free games after he collect the money out of the pinball machine. Man I missed those days. I play this on my iPhone or iPad.
@@TiltingT I repinned the 2 connectors on the right of the driver board that appeared to have something to do with sound from the schematics. Was a shotgun approach but ended up doing the job! Maybe a sketchy ground? But been perfect since. Just sold it actually!
@pinballshenanigans ohh ok ..I was puzzled too .. glad ya got it going... now that it's gone I guess that means a new project in incoming?.. Saw your nomination on the TWIPYS congrats ...you had my vote
@@TiltingT Thanks for your vote buddy! We were watching from Kevins arcade :) I was going to do a xenon update video for the sound but never got around to it before it sold. sold super quick. bounty hunter is going this wed so i think i will kind of have room for the next project!!! :)
Reminds me of Star Trek 1 The Motion Picture. Came out the same year as well hmm? I played this game many times with my uncle as a child .Good Times Another pinball machine worthy of checking out is Flight 2000.
@@pinballshenanigans Good point! I still owned it back then and had spent loads of time and money restoring it. One thing about an overlay, you have to unscrew everything off the playfield, it took ages, but ran a dream after that. The guy that designed it had a sort of 'trademark', one of the blue pillars of each machine (near the top hole) was a different colour. Changing out a 7 segment score display and replacing many SCR transistors was also needed, plus around 100 lamps, but it shone when I had finished it, loved it! Changed the corroded battery for a memory backup capacitor, it would last weeks without needing the game turned on, but usually, I was on it 2-3 times a week. I had all the manuals, Bally theory of operation, the works, may still have scans somewhere. I JUST REMEMBERED, there was a little button on either the speech or vocalizer cards. when you pressed it, it ran through all the speech chips, and 'she' would spend a few seconds announcing every bit of speech in there in one long stream. It was quite impressive!
Your Xenon looks absolutely fantastic, Mike!!! "Enter Xenon!" brings back many fond memories. Xenon was the 1st pin I owned. Bought it from a guy who had it on location in a dive bar in 1989 for $300, and sold it in 1996 for $700. The lower playfield had a bit of bare wood, which as you know, tends to happen. The game play action was fantastic! Wish I still had it 😥 Is it my imagination, or do your displays have only 6 digits and not 7? Also, I'm pretty sure the Tube value will go as high as 90,000 if you keep up the Tube shots...
Thanks man! That is awesome. Love hearing these kind of stories! Xenon has 7 digit displays but not too easy to get that last digit to light up :) Oh that makes sense about the tube! Good call!
It is such a light show of a machine! That backglass is dazzling. I owned this machine and a solenoid burned and caught on fire. I had to quickly pull off the glass and lift the playfield. I was able to "blow" out the fire but the playfield was charred. I scrubbed it but the artwork all pulled off. It always smelled like smoke. I put the cabinet on the curb and went back to get the backbox. I came out and someone had already taken the cabinet. I just kept the backglass part. The lights never worked again. It was like setting your girlfriend on fire. I got a better smuttier girlfriend now with Elvira. Not as pretty... but she plays well and funky. Pardon the puns.
You did a great job on this pin Mike. Beautiful game. I love the chasing lights in the backglass. However, unfortunately the sexual nature of the pin keeps it out of my gameroom.
