Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY , we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. #Vanlife was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

My wife and I have been together for 50 years (43 married), it's great to experience those adventures at your age, and as we have gotten older, we still experience the same feeling and emotions. We may experience it with a kiss, a walk on the beach, hugging each other, and yes watching our children and grandchildren experience what we have always cherished. Life and nature will always have something to teach you, so embrace it and cherish the little things in life. You guys are awesome.

when i saw the thumbnail, i was like "wait, is that big mountain?" I clicked and heard we are in whitefish and I got so exited because I LIVE there! thanks for visiting, and I hope you had an absolute blast!
edit: when I saw all of the things I recognized on that mountain, I was practically screaming with excitement!

I started skiing when I was 2 (I’m from Canada and that’s probably the most stereotypical Canadian thing I’ve ever said) and after a mere 28 years of experience I have to say. You guys KILLED IT after just a few days!

In Europe we have red ski runs too which are in-between the green and black runs. I’ve only done one black run and spent a lot of it sitting/falling down!

Dang as someone who as skied in Montana since I was a toddler seeing Kara not being able to stand up to doing French fries down a blue is pretty impressive.
I love skiing, I think skiing is such a good sport to just have fun, compete, relax, and just a little adventure I’ve been doing basketball and skiing for half of my life.
Dare I say... that Kara... has actually started to... LIKE the snow? She's like a pro on those skis! Just proof that there's literally nothing you guys can't do!

Totally agree with the ski lesson - Just one. It make SUCH a difference between misery and enjoying your vacation. You guys, both, did SO well! Best time skiing is being the first one down a run after a nice snow fall, when you can't even hear your skis in the snow - AMAZING. Called it a God moment

I miss skiing so much. Our family have travelled to the french alps every year to ski since I was three. We have slightly different ranking over in Europe, so I’m glad you explained the American slopes 😂 Our slopes are called pistes and they rank in order of Green, Blue, Red, and Black. So black are the extremely difficult pistes (pretty much only done by pros), almost like you’re skiing through the trees rather than on a slope. Thanks for another amazing video!

what do you recommend to someone who has never skied and just wants to test the waters out... i want to hire some stuff here in chamonix (im here now) and go to the free section at the bottom of the slope and practice on the flat bit....any tips for a complete noob?
The first time my friends put me on a black Dimond and I learned how to do all the blacks in one day it's all about being willing to learn. I'm also working at a ski school and every person I gave taught went on a black the first day.

Me and my husband learnt to ski and went on our first ski trip last year, so this bought back a lot of fun memories! The point when you realise you can do it is amazing.... then usually followed by doing something dumb like falling on a drag lift or falling over in a lift queue!

Wow you guys picked that up really fast. I've skied about 5 weeks in my life, and (as far as it is comparable) the first black slope in austria took me about two days into the second week.
I absolutely love skiing and hope to go in the beginning of 2022... I just hope that Covid stays under control. Keep up the great videos.
