Who are Kara and Nate?!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are in our 9TH YEAR of finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)
We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

I just respect Nate because no matter what why or where he always gets up and makes Kara a cup of coffee. True love!
Nate and Kara…. U2 remind me so much of my folks that passed in 2020 after being married for 70 years. They were crazy in love right up until the end. Nate makes a coffee in the morning every morning no matter where you are. You both are so supportive. It’s just a beautiful love story we get to watch every week and the icing on the cake is wherever you are and whatever you’re doing. Always makes me happy. Love you both stay safe and most definitely stay happy.

@@KaraandNate Absolutely! This country is very special to me as well. When we fled civil war in Lebanon, we moved around the Middle East and eventually stayed here for three years. This was the first place we ever truly felt safe enough to call home, before moving to the U.S.!

This happened to my mom in a 5mph crash and she had a tedious 3 year recovery from shattering one leg and fracturing the other. 🥴 Just a forewarning to anyone who puts their feet on the dash… Epic adventure’s though Kara & Nate! Loving this series! 🫶🏻

@KaraandNate happens when offroading. We kept having a door pop open offroading a jeep in Aruba. Between that and the battery not staying connected it was quite the adventure!
When drawers open when driving in any camper or van it immediately reminds me of Kara in the support van of the bike series! 🤣
The every-morning coffee for Kara still brings me joy!
I still remember Nate making coffee for you in the OG vanlife!
Van life started quit late… they hit a 100 countries before and Nate did it everyday as well!

To this day my favourite video you guys have done was camping with Nate’s grandpa in the camper he redid ❤ I could watch the video over and over and over!

@@jeffhampton2767 The US government is *always* issuing serious warnings about Americans traveling overseas. I have lived and traveled abroad for 12 years and I get these notifications all the time. Besides, Oman is an ally. We take precautions, but we don't live in fear. Cheers.

I wouldn't bother with Belize's Great Blue Hole. I did it a few years ago and it looks okay from the boat over it. But it is seriously lackluster. Hardly any fish. Stalagtites and stalagmites, but nothing of any real interest. Below 30-40 feet, there is almost zero to see. There were two dive sites on the way there (which is a 42 km journey from shore) which were far more interesting!

What really impressed me about the tomb was that it looks like it’s made of limestone pieces which each fit perfectly into each other without mortar. Amazing!
Kara never put your feet up on the dashboard! It’s one of the most dangerous things you can do in a vehicle, especially when your in a slightly unpredictable vehicle along bumpy roads. It can easily force your knees through your chest, dislodge your hips and leave you paralysed or dead. It’s a scary thing to talk about but very necessary!
I remember them saying that she needs to do that so Nate can get the AC, which her legs block due to where it is situated. Not that it isn't dangerous..just that that was what was mentioned.
@@jennymichelle81 yeah definitely not worth it for some AC. Even a relatively small jolt could leave her paralysed.

Just got to the airport, got comfy with my food in the lounge, and was so excited to see a new video from you both! I travel for work (which is what brought me to the airport today) which can really suck the fun out of travel. you guys are a constant reminder of how special it is to be able to travel the world! I've never left Australia, but I do find comfort in watching you guys as you show the real side of travel, which is something that is left out a lot of the time amongst touristy glamour. Really shows you what you can get up to everywhere in the world, besides the obvious spots, and that there is fun and thrilling adventures waiting for you anywhere you go..!!

I backpacked around the world off and on from 1987 to 2001 and have been in 75 countries. Yes, the top question I always get is what my favorite country is and, yes, it's a hard question to answer. I usually say that India is the most fascinating place I've ever been; I've been there twice for a total of six months and feel like I barely scratched the surface. Other favorites are Algeria, Syria, Mozambique, New Zealand, Laos, Guatemala and Colombia (and lots of others).

Isn't it amazing no matter where you go you'll find someone speaking english lol. I went to Eze in the south of France when my sister came to visit, and i swear i heard more english than French. Loving this series so far, as a car guy it's such a pleasure seeing Nate driving stick shift as well, especially an old one like that that has no syncros so you really need to shift lol. Can't wait to see the rest.
P.S. My mom makes homemade zatar with zatar seeds we buy from lebanon, its SO good.

So good to see some van life again. I used to watch eamon and bec, king it, raya and Louise, now none of them really even do travel let alone van life. Miss you guys doing normal it doesnt have to always be super luxury and unobtainable to most viewers. This was super cool but really miss more down to earth van life vids.
