- Shoigu becomes the Security Council of Russia. He might have the position. But surely has no power. Putin indeed is what he says he is for Russia - a guarantor of sorts: a guarantor of the continuation of war, the guarantor of the corruption to flourish, he also guarantees the lack of rights for Russians. Thanks to the help of Ukraine, the US army is improving itself.

The longer this goes on the more it looks like Saddam Hussians style of autocracy, with the head of state pitting agencies against each other, weakening the state from within.

Posting an economist as head of the entire military forces of Russia is basically saying the budget needs to be purged of graft and corruption, at least the appearance of it.
Shoigu outlived his usefulness as a leader, the soldiers didn't like him or followed his orders.
Petrushev may still be around, but all he can do now is skim whatever funds he can get without having a formal position.
Maybe he will lead the uprising now.
Ukraine needs a yet more military incompetent Russian defence minister, so maybe Shoigu being fired is actually good.

Shoigu's replacement as economist might get stupid ideas like weeding out embezzlement or withdrawing to more sustainable positions inside Muscovite empire. Then Putler can remove him and just command Muscovite hordes personally as his great predecessor did with massive success.

Many are misunderstanding the Russian political shuffle. Shoigu has not been fired. He has been moved to another, equivalently powerful, role. The shuffle of major figures in the Russian government has immense implications for both the current war and relations with Russia. It appears that what I refer to as the Patrushev Doctrine is winning out in terms of how Russia is reshaping its internal and external politics, and how it is going to pursue the war in Ukraine. The new defense minister, replacinig Shoigu, Andrey Belousov is made in the Patrushev mold. He is known to be a hawk, and very anti western. We must remember that his education in economics was at Moscow State University, in the USSR, during the Soviet Communist era. It is believed he holds much the same extreme views as Nikolai Patrushev. It is also noteworthy that he spent some time, in his early years, as a researcher in the area of “human machine systems” at the USSR's leading institution in that area. In the USSR that implied research into machine effected control over human behavior in addition to various other applications of human machine interfaces. It was a subject that involved extreme secrecy, that was given immense effort and importance in the former USSR. Anyone working in that area would have been in a position of knowing national security secrets and in a position of some amount of trust. Thus loyal to the Soviet ideology. That in addition to his rise in the ranks Deputy PM finances and economic development and acting PM of Russia for a time, As in the USSR, in Patrushev's Russia, it is all about how the nation's economy is organized and run. Sergei Shoigu was a minor Communist Party official in the USSR, and then long serving Minister of Emergency Situations, commanding Russia's civil defense troops, who have broad reaching powers as being, to a large extent, successor to the Soviet NKVD (interior ministry forces). He was also governor of the Moscow Oblast for a time. The move, apparently making him the head of the Security Council, implies an increaesed reliance on hard line, Soviet style tactics of internal control. A probable return to Soviet style mechanisms to an even greater extent than has recently been witnessed. Shoigu is believed to also be made in Patrushev's mold, loyal to the same doctrine. Dimitry Patrushev graduated from the FSB Academy, is Nikolai Patrushev's son in every way, and is now Deputy Prime Minister of Russia. It has been announced that Nikolai Patrushev himself, believed to be the “godfather” of the Moscow mob that is currently consolidating and increasing its power over Russia, is apparently being freed of some of his more routine, and bureaucratic, duties. The official announcement is that he will be continuing his activities, but in a different role, to be announced in the coming days. What we believe all of that implies is encapsulated in a statement made by the Moscow regime: “to put the security economy in line with the economy of the country so that it meets the dynamics of the current moment.” Interpreted that says that 1). Russia is moving its economic activities toward an even more Soviet era military industrial emphasis. 2). Russia is doing so with far more, wider, intent than would be limited to the needs of the Ukraine war. 3). Russia is decisively headed toward a return to Soviet era social controls and totalitarian imposition of order, by every means available to the regime. 4). Russia has turned toward a far more aggressively hostile posture in relation to the West. The Patrushev doctrine having won out against the more moderate strands within Russian politics. Russia taking a much more dangerous, far more hawkish, stance. The implications of the changes should be quite obvious and, most unfortunately, mandate a return to Cold War era response on the part of NATO and the West.
