- The Russian authorities decided to unilaterally change the country's maritime borders with Lithuania and Finland in the Baltic Sea. A bipartisan group of congressmen called on the Pentagon to allow Ukraine to attack targets in Russia. The Council of the European Union approved the transfer of income from Russian assets to Ukraine.

But NATO ambitions of Ukraine are at the core of this conflict .
So NATO being dragged into it is a rather logically next step.

Since the ruzzians are saying that the 40 year old border agreement is no longer valid, and their intention is to annex Gotland, and other areas in the Baltic, perhaps it's time for Poland, Lithuania, and the EU government, to reply in kind, and claim that the 1945 'Potsdam Agreement', where Konigsberg (a.k.a. Kaliningrad) was placed under Soviet administration, (administration only, not seceded), and the 1990 'Treaty on the Final Settlement with Respect to Germany' where this "administration" was finally confirmed as possession, are no longer valid, since the original signatory, the Soviet Union, no longer exists? I'm sure the Kremlin would happily welcome another 400,000 ruzzian "patriots" back home....
