After months in delight with Rapture, I've decided to pay more atention to the whole album and it was one of my best decisions. The lyrics kicked right in my soul. And I've realized it when I heard "I never noticed I was treating myself so bad", followed by this amazing chorus that invited me to see a bright light ahead. So, here I am, listening to Rival Sons and wondering about hard times, but with a smile on my face and thinking how life is beautiful, no matter what.
This song is great!!! Love that opening guitar lick. The transition from acoustic to electric is sweet. I love how each part of this song from the Verse to bridge to solo is unique and awesome.
This is shaping up to be the most depressing record ever. Every song Jay is looking for some glimmer of hope to rise out of whatever darkness there is, but then in the next song he's back even deeper that he was before. I dont think there's gonna be any salvation in this LP.
Well, what did you expect? Everyone has had fcking depressing three years. With the multiple lockdowns due to covid and an actual frocking war. It's been dark and sh1tty. But it's only the first of two, let's hear the second one and then we can whine all we want, yeah?
I'm pretty harsh and I like this album. I think Hollow Bones, though it has a few great songs, is the low point of albums for RS. I hope this album grows on you like Great Western Valkarie did for me! I went from disliking it to it being one of their best IMO.
@@leehilton-bu3nei think he means depressing thematically, not that the songs are bad! the lyrics on this album are very sad but the music is fantastic
I’m impressed that this otherwise generic and derivative mid band managed to pull off this album. At this point I might agree they are starting to be underrated
By all means, ladyiam7084, feel free to make something you consider better... oh wait, you're just another generic, derivative troll with no talent or acumen. Darn the luck!
Nice tie-in to the lyric in the song Darkfighter: "Who's gonna find my island, If the ships never come this way"
Best track of the album
Exactly what I thought after hearing it live in Denver, blew me away.
💯
When I’m grateful for something. Finding good new music while enjoying the spliff. Gonna listen to some albums now. Great Riff 🫠
Man this album is seriously great.
This is a musical masterpiece
Singer reminds me of Early Genesis Peter Gabriel .
On Mirrors he sounds like Steve Marriott.
I like this band.

They’re releasing a 2nd album this year called, Light bringer, which follows the story on from Darkfighter.

Its fucking CRAZY how you call this mid and derivative when you like GVF, the peak of mid and derivative 🤡
I always say they are like the Black Keys with 100 times more musicianship.
you can't say that without a monocle and a top hat
