Go to your local Board of Education and tell them you want to become certified and want to work there as a substitute teacher.

Thank you so much for this PSA. It's always a little intimidating starting something new and I am going to school for elementary education. I am ready for this at the same time I'm a little nervous, however, your advise was great. There should be more videos like this for folks who aspire to be in the teaching world.

So if I want to teach high school Mathematics, I just go the Board of Ed at any high school in NJ and apply for a sub certificate? How long does it take to get approved? By the way, I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Montclair State.
