- From Kelly Clarkson's trip-up to Viola Davis' praise to texting Tom Holland to Laura Linney's snub, Graeme O'Neil takes a look at Zendaya's historic second win for Best Actress in a Drama Series at the 2022 Emmy Awards.
Man even Kelly Clarkson's yelling of ZENDAYA! is so sonically (and vocally) on point!
She just ALWAYS nails it on the fashion!! ALWAYS original, unexpected and beautiful! Even her second look in the red gown was STUNNING!!
I swear, that woman is "Goals"!
Do you have a life?
This credit belongs SOLELY to Law Roach. Se data says he is her savior because he has styled her to A - list levels. Law is know as “The Image Architect” 📌
Zendaya's world rocks. She's so genuine ... and stunningly beautiful. I love her.
And don't you just love how she went from child star to one of the most well adjusted young stars in Hollywood.
That black gown and it has pockets. Then the red gown.
It’s the pockets for me sis!!!
@@21cherice same here
Not sure I would thank my boyfriend either. Not quite the same as thanking your wife or husband who typically helps you and makes sacrifices while you perform your job.
literally, it's not a must to shoutout everyone. And they shouldn't be asking personal and akward questions like that.
yea plus she didnt say her parents directly either like "loved ones" is fine to say the fans expect too much
Kelly Clarkson yelling is SO ON KEY that it seems like a song 😂😂😂😂
Another well deserved Emmy!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Beautiful, and well deserved by the gracious and talented Zendaya.
I do also agree with the statement at 3:17, but also there were a lot of other actors who deserve a win, sadly there can only be a few. But we're grateful for everyone's work ethic and talent, and we applaud them all for giving it their all every single damn day 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️
Congratulations zendaya beautiful classy young actress so proud of her wishing her all continuing success 👸🏽❤.
I am so proud of her. I almost cried. I knew that she will get it.
Yes! She didn't go easy on us in this dress! 🤩 I love it more than the first one
Zendaya killed that performance. I'm so happy for her. It's a shame more people of color don't win.
You do realize they have given more awards to people of color due to the woke attitudes lately and to be honest look at Hollywood there aren’t that many actors of color taking on bigger roles it seems to always be the same ones and most of them are amazing I’ve seen movies and shows where actors of all races have been passed over and it’s a matter of talent and luck of the draw with roles that bring actors to the Emmy’s Oscar’s and so on.
@Martin Thomas- I disagree. I haven’t heard of any award whether an Emmy or an Oscar was awarded to a person of color whose performance wasn’t amazing or wasn’t deserving. If Hollywood only awards actors of color for mediocre performances than why did Chadwick Bosman lost the Oscar to Anthony Hopkins or when Kate Winslet won the Emmy over Michaela Coel? The matter of fact, Jamie Lee Curtis won the Oscar over Angela Bassett literally last month!
I’m blown away that people in the comment section are saying she’s not black or she’s mixed( not false) . Mixed is not a race in itself people. Biracial means…. Of two races.
She is black and she is white. Making the statement that she is black, is not false. Neither is saying she is white. She identifies as black based on her personal experiences. You don’t have the right tell someone how identify or what they’ve experienced.
Don’t trip if she decides to be white, if it benefits her, since she has that right. RIGHT?! 😒
Well said. She is definitely not white though, but still well said
Zendaya's just a GOOD girl and deserves every good thing that happens to her!!!
She does, cause she works her ass off for it!
She always looks amazing! Bravo to her team
She deserves it..
So humble kindhearted
Beautiful insideout...
So talented.. congratulations Z u deserve it 👍
Lovely Zendaya congratulations 💝💝💝💝💝
That was a Valentino red gorgeous dress. I love it better than the black one tbh.
ugh her gowns are sooooo spectacularly beautfiul!!
As much as I love Zendaya, I also think it's a shame that Laura Linney doesn't have an Emmy for Wendy!! It was one of the best character arcs I've ever seen and it was so brilliantly acted by Laura. But, yeah... If anyone else had to win that night, I'm glad it was Zendaya. Amazing performance too!
I think what played a huge factor in Zendaya’s second Emmy win was her episode submission (S2. Ep.5) of Euphoria. Most Emmy voters are, generally, not going to watch every episode of the nominee’s show when casting their vote. That’s why all the acting nominees submit just one episode of their show for Emmy voters to watch and judge on. Zendaya’s episode submission was absolutely amazing and all full showcase of the actor’s talents but that puts Laura Linney at a disadvantage because, in order to fully appreciate her performance in Ozark, one must watch several episodes to really understand her character’s story arc and can fully appreciate her performance. That can be also be said about Melanie Lynskey in Yellow Jackets.
@@davy209 That's true!
I gotta say something and please don't come at me for this but I think she deserved this wining more than she did last year, she delivered a strong super complicated conflicted and layered character in the second season, we loved rue in parts of the show , we hated her in others we felt sorry for her and we hoped her the best at the end of the show .
Episode 5 Season 2 is what sealed the win for Zendaya. She went through it as an actor.
Thanks for saying "Herstory", it might seem little but you made me cry. I love this progress.
Agree on Laura and her 4 prior wins might be why that's often how Emmy voters vote. For newer talent.
Congratulations to you on your second Emmy she deserved it if anybody know about drug addiction and a headache it brings on you and the people you love and for her to portray that the way she do she deserves a Oscar good job my love pardon my French that shit is hell in real life so the way she portrays it for us to tell that story about how bad in wicked and Cunning that addiction is she should have won an Oscar girl you did a damn thing
Family is loved ones🤣
Tom is neither a friend or family 🤪
I think it’s fine that she didn’t shout out Tom in her speech. For celebrities less is usually more, oftentimes once they start thanking each other in the award acceptance speeches it can becomes the kiss of death for the relationship!
ALB , Agree like Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock... Zendaya is very smart woman.
Not necessarily loved ones can be friends. Family is not always included in that
She never disappoints ,great acting skills plus great fashion sense😍 ,huge fun
Kinda wish Laura Linney had won, she was amazing on the last season of Ozark but I’m glad that Zendaya got it if not her

Zendaya is wonderfull, but I'm a Laura's Fan all the way back to Tails of the City rsrsrs and she was SUPERB in Ozark!

Not hating but I wish more darker skin black women get acknowledged and win Emmy’s too
1:35 Just casually dropping that she's wearing shorts.
The fact that Z can walk on sky high heels like those, and with Socks, that's Emmy worthy alone...
So agree about Laura😭
Dammmm she is killing it!!!
What can isay.Zenday is very smart she has a bright future.Love her dancing with the stars.
She looked gorgeous
Rue ain’t no joke she deserves it!!
Love her! So talented!
I love this girl! 😍
Zendaya, cannot do wrong in fashion. And that’s a fact!!
Yeah she has been killing it
I feel like if the nominees were all equally stellar and deserving, then even if I don’t win, it was still a win. It’s like if I didn’t land a job but I knew I was top 2,3, or 4 in the hiring process. I would only be mad if my peers were not of equally stellar caliber and worse if the winner was someone awful. So, let’s celebrate Zendaya and all the other women in her category are doing just fine without the win.
SHE SAID BOYFRIEND!!!!! so she confimed she has one (ik it's obivious that they are but still)
I’ve confirmed it before
They should just give all the nominated actors Emmy like come to they home with statue with they name. Why they have to choose one. But I am so happy thqt Zendaya win. I was screaming. A
She ain't black. She is half white half black. She represents both cultures.
One drop rule. So she is black
Sorry Wendy Byrd…. but Euphoria 2x5🔥🔥🔥 Zendaya killed that! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I absolutely love her
I love Zendaya and all, however there are other reasons to why she won. In the past the extremely talented dark skin true definition of brown skin and golden girls didn't get many shots because they aren't standard. She is the definition of black to the world. Her skin her hair etc. Im not knocking her talent but I've seen people more talented who didn't get here chance and it was because of the world's standards
Thank you 👏👏
I believe this to be true also ,Zendaya spoke of this also.
The comment takes away from Zandeya 😱, she simply won’t don’t go mentioning your shocked a white woman didn’t win, wtf do you even mean
She is half white so kinda they did win. She is not Black.
LEWK is very Audrey Hepburn!! 😍
That RED!!!!!!!!!!!!
I say YES!!
✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
That red dress wasn't strapless it was off the shoulder but very much had SLEEVES and SLEEVES= NOT STRAPLESS!
This was good until the last Linney comment which completely negated Zendaya’s win regardless of the ending comments.
I thought Zendaya is mixed-race not black. I think her mother is white and father is black
She's mixed, the first mixed! 🤣
Mixed is not a race. Biracial is inclusive of two races. So she IS two races……..Black and White. Saying that she is black is not false. Neither is saying she’s white. How she chooses to identify based on her experiences is her choice.
Kelly Clarkson so ghetto 😂😂😂I love her
Love
Zendaya is half white. So he is mixed not just black.
She is no bi racial
??? She is. Her father is black her mother is white.
I'm white and Asian does that mean Zendaya isn't black and I'm not Asian we get grouped together in our own category lol
Zendaya acknowledges that she is mixed, but identifies as a Black Woman. So does Halle Berry. What makes one Black anyway? Due to slavery here in North America most (not all) Black people are mixed with Caucasian. So should we all identify as biracial?
She's biracial not black. If one of your parents is of a different race then you're biracial.
@@4daluvofnikki Zendaya does not identify as a Black woman. She identifies as Biracial.
Baby boy, you look TIRED!! We love your tea but you obviously need a break. Wishing you well 🤗
haha, well it was the last segment I did of a post-Emmys all-nighter, so not surprised I look tired :). I got some sleep after :)
Don’t get upset if she decides to label herself as white if it benefits her. Her getting these roles, is not because she’s black. Biracial, light skinned always comes first in casting vs a black chocolate, beautiful woman. SMH
No ,I don't think so ,she identify as black, she knows what is going on(colorism/racism) in Hollyweird and television. Same old story ,different day.The power structure at the top needs to change!
@@eliciaellis7428 like I said, don’t get upset if she decides she want to identify as white. You or anyone dont know what the future holds. So save it
Zendaya is literally herself in every thing she plays in lmao she is not a good actress 🤷🏽
My girls and I love her. I just want to say though, representation matters, she is bi racial, not black when she is crowned as such we loose site of the devide that our Viola Davis, and ,Lupita's still fight to overcome. Zen is holding her own, if her race is to be praised aa a part of her accomplishments then say 1st bi racial to win two emmy's, tge one drop rule shouldn't still be considered in 2022.
There is no biracial in the us. She is Black and identifies as Black. Tired of you race Police.
The one drop rule does not apply to Zendaya. Her Father is a black man. She is a proud black woman. Who are you or anyone else to say who she is?
I am saying who she says she is which is bi-racial, her mother is always front and center, she is proud of noth sides of her heritage as she should be. When Hollywood refers to her as a black woman they erase half of her identity, she is biracial as she has stated.
@@tinafields9200 Zendaya does not consider herself a Black woman!
Cuz that ain't her boyfriend stop making something out of nothing is you
FIRST
Focus on the winner and leave it at that. No need to single out one of the other contenders if not all.
Lol forget the losers.
She’s biracial not just black. Surprised you didn’t know that.
She is biracial yes, However she identifies as black. Try again.
@@LuckyCharmgirl247 you’re not the moderator on the video. Thanks for letting me know. The rudeness wasn’t necessary Shadygirl92
@@prnps you’re correct I am not the narrator in the video. The narrator said black because they know that’s what she identifies as, the one whom seems to not know is you. Your comment was ignorant at best and you got checked. You then tried to flip it back on me for being “rude” because you got checked, so let’s just move along.
Zendaya acknowledges that she is mixed, but identifies as a Black Woman. So does Halle Berry. What makes one Black anyway? Due to slavery here in North America most (not all) Black people are mixed with Caucasian. So should we all identify as biracial?
@@4daluvofnikki it's funny you should ask that. But ultimately that decision is made by wypipo.
They made the one-drop rule; you had one drop of black, your ass was black. Period. But, then their children and grandchildren started having that one drop so to ease the guilt and make it sound better they coined the term "biracial". I had a friend born and raised in Africa, but was of white complexion. Earned her American citizenship...she put that she was African American. Technically, that it correct. The government will not allow her to put that, they told her she was Caucasian. 🤷🏽♀️ we don't choose, people choose for us.
She is biracial and yes she is half black and half white but not a black women
I'm white and Asian does that mean I'm not Asian lol
Zendaya calls herself a Black Woman. If having any White in you makes you biracial then there are a lot of biracial people walking around this place and don't know it.
She identifies as a black woman
So now anyone can identify as black
She is Black and identifies as such. There are Black people in this country with 2 Black parents lighter than Zendaya. She can identify herself.
How is it historic? Everything’s historic now? 🙄
The stats I mentioned are definitely significant.
When something happens that has not ever happened before that is the definition of being historic.
OMG she is NOT a Black woman!!!
I'm guessing this is why Keke Palmer is jealous of her!!!
You obviously don’t know what your talking about. So just stop
