  • I wanted to pull enough power to verify I could get a good takeoff and climb to pattern altitude, just make sure the engine was happy there. I can expand the power range in flight easier than I can on the ground. (cooling) This was the second / third runs of the engine and I took it to about 40" manifold pressure and 2700 rpm. It ran really well. I was conservative on the rich side so it was very cool and flowing a lot of fuel, about 42 gph. I don't expect many more engine runs until I'm at the airport. The next build phase is the cooling plenums, cowlings, spinner and final bodywork on the top side of the plane. Then we're ready to fly.

    Any update on the ls powered project? Killer plane btw!

      No I haven't worked on that in years. Just finished it with the previous company. Now Spectre Aircraft has it in TX so I'm not sure what the latest is.

      A tip : you can watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching loads of movies recently.
