I have the same bike and year. Every job I do on the bike I am fighting all the time with rusted screws bolts and nuts. A simple oil change on the vfr is a ridiculous long haul.
But it rides like a dream. I love the looks and the handling. It’s very well balanced. Sounds great and has presence.
It’s a bit like a marriage this bike but instead of yakking you get that lovely vtec sound.

I have a red one and I love it :) I’m not being negative but my dad a mechanic of 40 years told me that all four valves are always open, the vtec is just a valve-timing system that optimizes airflow in a gasoline engine during the intake and exhaust strokes just more air and fuel pumping so it boosts it :) great vid 👍

That's how VTEC works in Honda cars, on the VFR it's an 8 valve up until 6800rpm, over that it's a 16 valve.

Class video. Thanks for sharing. Picked up a 2007 one last month. My first bike. Bike is incredible. Loving getting to know her on the roads of Meath and Dublin.
Am I picking up an Irish accent under there somewhere?

I'm glad my accent isn't gone completely 😃🇮🇪 I'm from Navan originally but have lived in UK for over 30 years

Brilliant. Navan is only round the corner from me. Dublin 1 boy but living in Laytown now. I’ve subscribed to the channel. Hope to see more content on the VFR 🤞🏼

What's it like for a shorter rider ... about 5'6"?

@@alivekicking6247 I would say it would probably be a perfect fit. I'm 6'3", and I have quite a bend in my knee and flat footed when I'm just sitting on it.

@ivy-mac perfect. Thanks. I rarely see them about, so difficult to know how tall they are. Never seen them next to another bike
